Most of us would probably do better than either candidate right now as far as good intentions But would get eaten up by more cunning that surround them in the government.

As a dictator I'd probably do fine, what would worry me the most is setting things up for when I'm gone.
In a "democratic" system, no. One big tedious lie.

Doesn't seem like a very realistic goal for most people. Your chances are probably better if you're trained as a lawyer, which I'm not.

hah this.
I could myself getting involved in local politics in an actual attempt to change something for the better. I think politicians generally fall into two categories - though I'm sure it's more complicated than that, anyways.
1. Idealists still naive enough to try to make a change that get bent over by the system or never really progress beyond lower or mid tier legislative jobs or who eventually turn into type 2. 2. People after power and prestige.
I think the people who get into politics with truly good intentions end up probably feeling more beaten down than accomplished, it seems like a very difficult job to stand up to the political machine and to try and really change the status quo. It's important, though and I'm trying to be more proactive and involved in local politics as of late - don't forsee myself holding any kind of office any time soon though lol.

Most people here can barely run a bath, not to mind hauling themselves out of the bath after eventually managing to run it and getting it together to run a country.

What if everyone able to on the shroomery buys lot tickets until someone wins, then we find the largest bundle of land we can afford
Or we could start a shroomified version of Scientoligists Sea Org sailing the world and stopping at ports to pick up shroomey people

indeed also the odds aren't in your favor, I mean the US has over 300 million people, and only one president at a time, so I don't think it's even a reasonable goal to aspire to unless you'r born into one of the ruling families a la ancient rome

"ever being president" and "ever running a country" are a bit different...
Personally I wouldn't want to be president even if it were possible for me, but in a better system being part of running a country could work out alright.

I started typing one up but it felt a little ridiculous so I erased it now that I am stoned it will probably be worse but here ya go:
To save space I'm going to just put TNI when travel's not included:
5$ mushroom spores 20$ choice of cactus cutting or ethno seed bundle 50$ Participation in a mushroom ceremony, TNI 100$ Choice of drugs out of available stock (drugs would be legal) and 1 night food/housing TNI 200$ food and housing provided for 2 nights after a mushroom ceremony TNI 500$ Everything listed so far except 3 nights of food/ housing and travel included from most places. 1000$ permanent cabin/ room available to use at your leisure.
That is most of what comes to mind but clearly there are a ton of possibilities. Idk what would be the easiest way to get around drug laws though, maybe an island that is not part of any country? If those even exist any more. Or if we go the sea org route it could just all take place in international waters though that would be more shady since it would still be illegal to obtain the drugs in most places...

By that I pretty much mean there will be a cheap cabin/ room with a bed and maybe a few other necessities available for them year round with at least short notice.
But yeah you are probably right I just suck at gauging the $ value of everything as I hate looking at things like that
There could be different levels of housing available, like cheaper 1K~ ish simple ones and then nicer ones going up to like 5-10K.
In fact having military tents set up with cots would rock becouse people could rent them out for pretty damn cheap. That we more people could come.

No, it is supposed to represent the lies you are presenting to this great community.
I can fill you in more...
Have you seen this movie before?

You're obviously a hater of freedom, and not a patriot. If I'm elected president, I will be sure to build a wall around your house. I'll make you build it while on all the MXE twighead will give you when I give him his promised turn at president. Your enlarged hand growth will help in this endeavor.

You just raise some money selling monkeys door to door and doing faith healings, then before you know it you can buy a bunch of land in Guyana and be set. If you use the Jim Jones style self promotion, but the Ken Kesey Kool-Aid recipe, everything will work out fine.

I've been a team leader twice in roles at work and now a mod on the Shroomery (took me by surprise that did!). I can say that my experience of such roles has been utterly shit in general. Running things is bollocks. It's a lot more pleasant when you can blend into the background.
I once heard someone say (paraphrasing) that 'the people running the country should be the ones who would be dragged kicking and screaming into doing it'.
-------------------- Let it be seen that you are nothing. And in knowing that you are nothing... there is nothing to lose, there is nothing to gain. What can happen to you? Something can happen to the body, but it will either heal or it won't. What's the big deal? Let life knock you to bits. Let life take you apart. Let life destroy you. It will only destroy what you are not. --Jac O'keeffe
