Truffles don't form
    #23415756 - 07/06/16 01:32 AM (7 years, 6 months ago)

I have ATL#7 species. grown on Rye berries.
It is about 5 months since inoculation, and 2-3 months since full colonization.
I cannot see truffles forming.
I have a few jars in the same condition.

They are about 5 months old I think.
Actually I am not sure when they finished colonizing.

2-3 months would mean it took 2-3 months to colonise? Should be more like 2-3 weeks. Doesn't sound right.

That's probably the problem right there. Should be 100% colonization before 3 weeks and take ~60days to see stones 90-120 is harvest time

Something is making it go that slow. Bad gas exchange, bacteria in the grain, poor culture/genetics, moisture content off, maybe one of those things or a combination

i know nothing about ATL, but id say to at least leave the jars and hope for the best. if they took THAT long, id have to agree that something was obviously off lol.

you might still end up with a yield though.. itll just take a couple years

When did you first see any growth in the jars? did you shake them to spread the growth? if so when?

I had ATL on white rice grow for a long time without producing stones, well maybe a few very tiny ones. I mixed it with coir in an attempt to fruit them, no fruits grew however I did get a fair amount of truffles.
