In honour of the dying D&B thread...
What sub-genre do you prefer? Roots/dancehall/dub/modern/etc?
I've been a rootsman for many years (Bob Marley/Barrington Levy/Linval Thompson/etc) but the modern shit is fucking sublime. Pretty much anything by 'Silly Walks Discotheque' fucking rocks:
-------------------- Let it be seen that you are nothing. And in knowing that you are nothing... there is nothing to lose, there is nothing to gain. What can happen to you? Something can happen to the body, but it will either heal or it won't. What's the big deal? Let life knock you to bits. Let life take you apart. Let life destroy you. It will only destroy what you are not. --Jac O'keeffe

I love roots and dub reggae from the 60s-80s, but that's about the extent of my reggae knowledge. I like a lot of the dancehall I've heard but I have yet to really delve into the genre or any modern reggae, really.

King Tubby most likely. Dub specialist.
I always wanted to love Dub but I always prefer music with a human voice.

Junior Murvin - Police & Thieves
Lee Perry & the Upsetters - Zion's Blood
The Congos - Fisherman
Augustus Pablo - Africa (1983)
Peter Tosh - Downpressor Man
Ini Kamoze - Trouble You A Trouble Me
Augustus Pablo - King Tubby Meets Rockers Uptown
Man I got way more, I could keep going for a bit These may or may not be obvious choices, I don't really have much insider knowledge of the scene, but they're all fucking great tracks. Could listen to this shit forever.

Fuckin' A keep going brother, you put another two tracks (already in my library) into my 'Favourites' playlist there. A couple of my all time classics:
And on the modern side:

No point me linking the brief selection of music I like because shroomery doesn't like soundcloud. Suffice to say, Alpha & Omega are pretty good dub.

I almost never listen to real reggae but I love some fusion with reggae elements. Here is a reggae/ Jamaica inspired tune from a great German rock band:
Lake: Jamaica High
I love how groovy it is, great song for relaxing a toking up
And here is a really trippy psychedelic prog rock tune with some heavy reggae vibes:
BlandBladen - På Grön Kvist
This album has some of the nicest drum n bass I have ever heard on a studio album, almost makes it sound live at times. Funky synth too
-------------------- Don't worry about me, I've got all that I need. And I'm singing my song to the sky You know how it feels, With the breeze of the sun in your eyes. Not minding that time's passing by I've got all and more, My smile, just as before. Is all that I carry with me I talk to myself, I need nobody else. I'm lost and I'm mine, yes I'm free
