For reference, here are bottles in a small tote which I placed in a standard 66 Sterilite tub. They performed very well.

Oh man I'm so dumb. I had some jars that I let pin and fruit in-vitro, and didn't even open them until I harvested. But after harvest, I dunked (only for 12 hours because I ran out of time, because I was leaving for the beach), and then slightly rolled the tops, put back in the jars, and then Topped with a little more verm.
But here's where I'm an idiot. I gave them a quick few spritzes of water and put a damn quart sized baggie over each, with two holes at the rim of the jar and two at the top of the bag.
I could've just put them in this extra tote I had! I don't know why I didn't think about that Baha. I'm so stupid =p
Oh well. We will see how they do haha.

Ive been growing these in my sgfc and the results have been phenomenal.
So I theory, even if you get mold spores in the bottles the rate of growth is too quick for the myc to GIVES THE MOLD AND BACTERIIA a chance to catch up. Also having no nutrients to feed upon in the LI has a real struggle getting a grip at all
When I have time Im goin to try a couple of open air inoculation to see if I can get any fully colonized jars.
Has anybody tried this yet?

This is sick. Love those whities!
I haven't done anything in a long time, but am starting to get the itch to build out a grow room again.
I love how far this bottle tek has come!

I've had some small success with pan cyans and trops in bottles both with and without manure. I've only done pans in short PP5 containers though. I think quart bottles would be too deep for pans.

Sorry if this has been covered but can you inoc with wedges? Im in the process of having 2 jar sets colonising at the mo and one waiting for a wedge big enough to LI.
It got me thinking could you just cut a wedge into 6 and add to the 6 bottles I have waiting and spawn that way? I imagine there is more room for stalling out and a slower growth time.
While im at it what size culture do you usually aim for for optimum growth? I have a dime sized one at the mo and im bored.
Got so much going on id need to buy more kit to do much more and you know how the wife and the cat loves that

Yes, it's been covered. As far as I remember, Muda said that in the best-case scenario noccing up with wedges really slows down colonization for the bottle tek but it's more likely that it will just stall out on you.

Hi Muda, I read somewhere that you used the bottle tek with Lions Mane. I have a small bag of spawn but dont think its very clean to put on agar.
I was wondering if you could help me get started. I have read it likes a wood substrate and sterile as opposed to pasteurised.
I could suggest a mix to bottle up but will wait to see what you guys reccon.

Not sure how something isn't clean enough to put past agar. Agar is how we clean things up. If it's not clean enough for agar then it goes in the garbage.
I have done Hericium in bottles and it does fine. I did 1 part grain suppliment, 5 parts sawdust, inoculated with colonized grains. Did fine.

Actually in their instruction they say the spawn is clean but I need to clean the bag befor transferring. Maybe I should make some plates and try a transfer aswell.

Soaking sawdust for 24 hours is pointless unless you are working with chips. You can try to hydrate and pasteurize for open air spawning. You won't be able to do sterile tho. A bag of spawn is a poor thing to try to work with sterilize unless you have a large flowhood. Instructions telling you to clean the bag don't make a lot of sense.
