LC Syringe to LC jar?

Getting my first syringe in a day or two, wanted to know if I can get a water/honey jar ready for making LC culture and simply inject it with a LC syringe to make more LC. I searched first to see if anyone has done that before but had no luck finding info.
My reason for wanting to know if this can work is I would like to make my own LC, but making it from spores seems more open to contamination than just using an already good to go syringe. Being a complete noob I would like to have extra LC ready to go in case my first grow fails.

Honestly, you're going to be better off doing agar, IMHO. It's easier to see contamination and you can use it to make LI.

You can also use agar to start LC if you were really looking to expand.

I'm pretty uneducated on the topic of agar, so I was going to hold off on it until I get familiar with the other basics first. It requires some other equipment like petri-dishes if I remember correctly, so I'd need to get some of that stuff, but I do have it on my reading "to do" list.

It's easier than you think. Here is how I make my plates.

In real mycology or G&MM cultivation, agar is the basics. Literally it's the way to start everything.

If you want to try out the water honey LC, I have great success with This Tek. Use the custom lid design and you are set....I inoculate my LC's with Agar wedges....please refer to the links provided by Pastywhyte or check out the agar work videos linked in my signifies to see Pasty's method presented visually.... You are way closer to getting started with Agar than you think....it just seems scary to noobs because it involves more work and science....

Yep, no problem. The majority of the community are against LCs (especially from spore) because of the uncertainty, and while it can be used successfully agar is the way to go.
Like these guys said, it's really not as hard as you're thinking. Its as simple/hard as anything else in this hobby, and really doesn't really require too much in addition to your PC.
Definitely read up on it. It'd would be the best way to expand your LC! Sure you can attempt to expand that syringe to another jar, but like those threads I linked said, its similar to g2g rules. Expanding into a jar could let contams flourish, while you could put a single drop to agar and start a dish and have the whole syringe left for later. Then you have guaranteed clean culture to start, and much better chances of success.

hehe you say 'other basics first' as if LC is easier than agar or is SUPPOSED to come before agar lol. i believe its the other way around more realistically.
once you get agar down, you can start learning to transfer into LC and grains etc. but agar will teach true sterile technique and allow you to use a clean culture EVERY time. cant really beat that for a noobie eh?
good luck buddy!

Ha okay you all convinced me I'll be making a trip to my local asian-foods market in the next few days. Thanks to the guys with the agar links too, I'll start there and read up on using agar.
