Danish Flag poppies

Hi fellas. Nothing too exciting here, but I felt like making a thread to share it anyway. This year, on 18 April, I sowed a bunch of "Danish Flag" poppy seeds. The plants have done pretty well (at least by my standards, some of you guys are amazing gardeners), and this week I've been noticing flower buds. I'm pretty excited to see the blooms open, so I thought I'd share.
The whole patch (I know, I need to weed the walk):

A couple bud pix:

Will update as they progress.

Just a quick question.
I have 16 decently sized pods. Can I just let them dry by themselves on the plant and make my teas after that ? I want to get viable seeds for next year.

Here's some more recent pix from last week. The patch presently looks like crap because we had a storm with lots or rain & high winds, and my very top heavy plants got really pushed down. Many of them are laying on the ground, with the tops at 90° angles, but they're still pushing up flowers and pods are still healthily forming, so fuck it.

There's a lot of variance in the petals; some are very fringed, some not at all, most are somewhere in between.

Awesome plants Burke.
What were you feeding these guys?

I would wait until the crowns lift up from the pod, then harvest them, you can see what I am talking about in the pic below. If you want to keep your pods intact for making decorative flower arrangements, which is the only reason every shroomery member grows pods, you can wait until the crown pulls away from the pod, and shake the seeds out of the openings which will form. You will be able to get plenty of seed this way, and can then do whatever you want with the dried pods afterwards.
Either way, I would let the crowns get to this point before harvesting.
