Cobweb ?

These cakes were birthed after they reached full colonization and were left to consolidate for about 5-6 days. After going into the FC they started to grow blobs of white that looked like mycelium, and now up close its looking wispy. Cobweb ?

that's not cobweb, it's bacterial mycelium. make sure you have good FAE in your fruiting chamber, it could be okay.

i never realized this question could be asked SO many times haha. there should be a sticky somewhere for new members only that just says, "puffy/reaching mycelium is 99% of the time due to bacterial contamination and poor FAE."

increase FAE in the fruiting chamber. maybe take a pic of the FC so we can help you with it.
nice quick edit :p a pic will still help though. a proper SGFC can be pretty easy to dial in if its set up properly.

Just wait it out... Did you let them consolidate for that 5 days in the jar, or you birthed at 100%?

FC is raised on jar, one side close to the wall (approx 6" away) no choice on the matter there. The jars were consolidated for 5 days in the jar, but it was a slow slow colonizing process, I fear I may have birthed too early. I used this FC successfully before, perhaps open windows in the room is disturbing my FAE ?

no, a cracked window in the room should be okay.

The way they colonized the verm from the roll would suggest they were birthed a little early... No biggie though.

what exactly is bacterial mycelium ? Is it just a term for mycelium that colonizes the verm outer layer ?

Come on now... It's mycelium, that has bacteria in it. Key words man.

ok thanks, I realize this isn't cobweb. If someone can help further educate me on what is bacterial mycelium, and how it begins if my jars were sterile and how does lack of FAE cause it to ignite, it would help me with future grows.
Also, can it taint a different healthy cake in the same FC ? If I do get fruits from these bacterial cakes, are they safe ?
Yes I am a noob. I'm posting and asking questions here to further learn. I use the search feature, but when I'm not sure if I'm correct in assuming a searched post is exactly relevant to my specific case I create my own post.
Thank you to those willing to ignore my level of biology/mycology, your answers help me greatly.

Your jars might've been sterile but the syringe probably wasn't ever. Bacteria in the syringe = bacteria in the jar. It weaves into the mycelium and changes the morphology. May have been said already but they're fine, just get the conditions right and they'll do their thing. With diminished yield, but, nothing you can do about that really.
