I'm against bombings. I'm also against nations occupying other nations and pretending to be "united" under their queen when the "united" ones want out.
Let Ireland, Scotland and Wales vote on their independence and let the UN oversee the election process and aftermath like anywhere else in the world where a nation must be liberated from a tyranny.

Not sure what you're on about. If by "united ones want out" you meant the people in the north of Ireland want out of the UK, they obviously don't, as they have shown in election after election. As for Scotland, Nicola Sturgeon will call for another independence referendum when she feels she can win it, there's nothing stoppng her. I'm not sure if wales can constitutionally hold a referendum. Edit, seems they can.

I'm not saying all but surprisingly there's a significant proportion that supports the bombings.
Personally I can see a case for them targeting soldiers (not taking sides myself), but civilians? No.

I'm not whining about anything, I'm amused about the idea of peaceful England.

OK pedant, over one century ago. Where did I deny anything, and I don't recall saying anything about the, "idea of peaceful England" though we are a little bit more peaceful these days.

Man, I'm disappointed. I thought you were cool with Americans. You should stick to raggin on Sophist personally instead of Americans as a whole, we all know there's a lot of ammo to use against him.
But yeah on topic, that's pretty fucked the Irish think like that. I can understand their resentment towards you guys but that anger shouldn't be focused on individuals. Just your shitty leaders.

Under a century. Distant now, not so much when the bombings started, which was the comparison.
Anyways America has nothing to do with the IRA outside of the odd Irish American funding them. Which I suppose is on topic... but as far as I know that isn't a big thing anymore, though it certainly was for a long time.
I don't support the IRA, and I don't support terrorism. Guerrilla warfare should be aimed at military units and politicians. Terrorism is cowardly and unethical.

Wouldn't it be really stupid to say you're down with the IRA on most sites? I mean aren't they investigated as a terrorist group?

I wouldn't take the word of two people off a stoner forum to represent the ideology of a nation.

Sophistic Radiance why are you being such a gaping bumhole? You honestly think what happens in the UK is insignificant???
Paramilitary groups have continued to present day in the form of drug gangs so there have been many turf war killings.
Younger generations who didn't experience the horrors of the troubles themselves, have grown up with hubris about future clashes with the British. Some groups are rearming, with caches increasingly being found, and they have targeted military.
Generally in Northern Ireland, the memories of the troubles are so well remembered that the vast majority of people don't want to bring up old shit.
I've never heard any Irish be ok with killing civilians. I think those that support the IRA are going to be keeping that to themselves.
Deuced is right, it was the Americans that funded the IRA. Thanks, America... Prick

Yeah, I live on the west coast, it's like a different country here. I wouldn't mind having California secede though, the rest of the country is just dragging us down. We could easily thrive as an independent nation.
