Habitat: Bark
Gills: Dark brown
Cap: Golden with blue splotches
Spore print color: Could not get a print
Other information: Found a few of these outside a mates place, they were pretty dry when I picked them and some had light blue spots on the cap. Pretty sure they are subs just need confirmation thanks

That orange colour where you are holding the mushrooms doesn't look good to me.

But the bruising on the cap from the rain does.. Can you see any blue bruising on the stem at all? And maybe take a spore print... Even though it's on the dry side it might just take a day or so.
Peace, Sillycybe.

I can see spore colour on the Cortina remnants on the upper stipe. This matches Psilocybe subaeruginosa. Bruising is odd but that's because they're probably dry. The Orange colour where rubbed or broken is fairly normal for old or dry subs. They get woody.
Wouldn't mind seeing pictures of the others just to confirm that the Blue isn't from herbicide colouring and is actually bruising.

Aw man, i've thrown out heaps of older mushrooms I was sure were subs but bruised orange. Probably a good rule of thumb for a newbie to biff any orange staining mushroom though.

They don't bruise Orange. They're orange/tan colour inside and when the stem is rubbed it exposes this colour.

Thanks for the responses guys I wasn't too worried about the orange coloration on the stem as I have seen this happen before, my main concern was that the blue spots on the cap could have been from spray and not a bruising at all..
Unfortunately they have been drying for a couple days now so no chance of a print, but have used a white led to look at the gills and they all definitely have a purple tinge to them.
And most are now showing at least a little bit of blueing on the stems too

Its a pretty lousy pic I know but its the best I can do at the moment, I will have to take another in the daylight, but from what I can tell I think i'm in the clear with these mushrooms
