so this is something i've been very much thinking about posting for a while now... why haven't? I dunno, simply,.. sometimes like, non-action can become kind of a habit,.. as in, each moment try to reach that state of peace -- and how is that reached? non-action is the means and the aim. it is interesting -- and, i cannot say it is any way for others, or even that it is for myself, but simply - . . .and, fortunately, or luckily, the easy way of explaining it is accurate and useful - look at every other animal or creature... most everyone of them have mastered this skill in some way or other, and is essential to their life and survival;
spiders, well of course, snakes, cats, all animals really, in some way or other... and some more than others.
frogs definitely. . . alligators -- and also i notice from this simple list -- how, the simple skill of waiting,. . .
in all these animals - are if not at the top of their food chain, at least close. does this word, this skill also denote -- predator? other animals have it too, but out of necessity?
okay -- rambling unrelated intro done (plz forgive rambling unrelated intro!). . .
so - wanted to share this for awhile, about 6 months.. i read it most of the way through as a kid. . .a mentor and friend, one of the smartest people i ever knew, recommended the series to me, and so it was always partly memorable to me as i related it to my friend... but, it wasn't until going through it the second time that i understood how great it was --
as,. . i had both read savitri, sonnets to orpheus (tr. c.f. mcyntire), what to speak of --
anyway. this series is incredible - very many times throughout reading it (this was while camping, in the pristine of nature. . . )
in fact quite cool, cold - beautiful, by the lake, with a little cat who is coming closer to adult but still a kitten. ..
anyway -- so those many times felt this -- so, why? the beauty-- the magic -- the imagery - characters, plot, story --
all are truly - the very best... and i've read a lot of.. that kind, ---
anyway -- on topics of magic and stuff it's really beautiful... Doesn't address spirituality specifically very much, sometimes, a little more, this or that -- quite a few lovely references...
for sure --
anyway.
Chronicles of Amber.. great story and also inspired a ton of art, and what not - the 'initiating' cheat code in Warcraft 1 was 'Corwin of Amber'
a little nod to the great author and world -
in terms of text - the story is not that long. . . ten books of around 150 pages or so; set in 2 groups of 5...
telling two different but continuing story arcs - the story of Corwin, then of his son.
at present, there are a couple of different places it's available online, all free --
one place -- this place,
was really nice for reading on a phone, for example, although there was no way to skip to an exact spot, so i had to save each page when i was done reading..
this one has the story in full -- was really nice for me, (after having read it quite a bit on the other)
and was easier in the sense, that one could effortlessly skim through all of it.... etc.
that was here http://amberlit.narod.ru/lib/amber1e.html
and then also -- this i discovered recently -- and was blown away very much! Roger -- the author --
He has read them all, and they are online..!! and - he really does an extraordinary job..
they uploaded in like February,
anyway all the best-- hope you enjoy or not -- hope you enjoy either way.
Sign of the Unicorn 3rd book
What's going on?, I asked the caterpiller
You're looped in Luke's loop, it replied.
Come again?, I said.
It blew a blue smoke ring, sighed softly, and said,
'Luke's lost in a loop, and you're lost in the lyrics, that's all.
How'd it happen?, I asked.
I have no idea, it replied.
How does one get unlooped?
Couldn't tell you that, either.
