It doesn't matter. You could check tomorrow if you wanted. Opening the tray to look won't hurt a thing. I would give it 4 days myself, that should let you have a good idea how much longer.

I said I was not an expert. Different from not understanding the principles.
Sorry, SgtPepa. Was only trying to help. I do stand by what I said though but the best advice is to try to see what works best for you with what you have. I didn't see if you are using perilte in your setup? Originally RR had that as part of how he used his sgfc. That info might be outdated(almost afraid to ask). Peace and good luck with your grow. Perlite is still the mainstay. I had assumed the OP simply hadn't added it yet. Don't be afraid to ask stuff, no one gets a hard time for asking questions, well not usually
Look man we ain't looking to ruin your day. I know PF wasn't and neither was I. Sometimes we come off as blunt, but I assure you the intent is not rudeness. Stick around and you might be intrigued by some of the things that have changed in the hobby. People do a few things differently now as well as having updated a few of the older methods. You might approve. Always great pics and grows floating around these days

No prob spock, if you didn't say cover the holes, others wouldn't of explained why not to.
I will be using perlite, just haven't added it yet.
I'm nervous about contamination though, hope it will work.

So its been 3 days.
To my untrained eye this seems like good progression, do you agree?

Hmmm, it looks pretty fuzzy to me so I'm unsure of it's health. See what some other advanced users have to say though, I'm just a newbie.

It looks like its doing good. The grain looks to have recovered well and is leaping off. Due to the small surface area of popcorn and low nock points it looks like it will probably be maybe 3 or 4 more days but, I doubt you need to worry about contams etc. It looks healthy

You my friend are a godsend. You put my mind at ease.
I find this hobby has a lot of room for worrying, when nothng needs to be worried about.
Hopefully I can produce some fruits worthy of the information I have harvested from these forums
Peace x

So 12 days since I spawned, seems to be going pretty slow.
24c little GE in the dark.
since my coir was quite fibrous there are small lumps that are quite dense not sure if it will colonize.
How does it look to your guys?

Why in the dark? Ambiant light can be helpful for colonization speeds IME. It looks like its mostly colonized, you could probably fruit that now if you wanted.

It's coir. You can colonize it in fruiting conditions and full light if you wanted to. Read some current info, darkness was disproved 20 years ago.

Since it's just coir you probably could depending on what you were going to case with. If I was gonna case them with more coir (and I often do) I would probably give em a few more days to thicken up. This will help keep the culture from blowing right through the casing.
