New species growing on my lawn
    #23409563 - 07/04/16 07:59 AM (7 years, 7 months ago)

Habitat:
Growing on my lawn, in the jersey Shore, pine Barrens area.
Gills:
They were pretty white when fresh, in the pics they look brownish, but it took me a while before I could take pics, so they were not fresh.
Stem:
The stems were brown, darker and thicker  at the bottom, no ring, smooth texture, and when I pinched it, it seemed fibrous.
Cap:
The caps are funny looking because they curl in a way which looks like a pirate hat. They are brown, smooth and dry.

Spore print color:
White

Bruising:
Pinched both the cap and the stem and did not see any bruising.
Other information:

Thanks for any help.

I had one like this growing in my garden in NJ in some grass. I think it's a Gymnopus species.

Thank you.
This should help me try to search for pics and find which specific gymnopus it could be.
Are there any poisonous ones?
Any more details anyone can give?
Thank you so much for the help.
