Possibly dormant cakes

Question at hand: Will established cakes go dormant if not used soon enough? I recently just go my terrarium set up and my cakes are sitting in a nice 99% humidity environment. Only problem is that they have yet to start growing after three days ( I was told this is abnormal). I believe the problem is that I had to wait about a month and a half after the cakes were ready to start my op. Will this cause the mycelium to go dormant? If so, can I "shock" it into activity somehow?
Thanks in advance for the help.

terrarium... am I gonna facepalm this? I hope you have a good fruiting chamber. your cakes will be stalled, not dormant. they may take longer than normal to pin; perhaps they won't pin. Only time will tell, really. Just go about things normally, and see what happens. And post your FC so we can see it.

You don't want or need 99% RH. Build a proper SGFC, mist cakes as needed and stop monitoring RH. If the RH is really 99% there is no room for evaporation (major pinning trigger) no wonder they aren't pinning, for all they know they are still in the jars.

If they say for a month and a half and didn't pin I think something else is wrong...

Some cakes did pin and produce mushrooms prior to opening the jars and setting up the FC

Hmmmm... What is your fruiting chamber? Having constant 100% humidity doesn't allow for much evaporation off of the surface, which is a main pinning trigger after full colonization...
