The spore print is indeed jet-black (I can provide pictures of the darker spore print but it has absolutely not hint of brown)

I would disagree- it lacks the white teeth-like protrusions on the edges of the gills and has thicker flesh, is less conical, slightly differs in stipe color, and i very very rarely see zoned P. papilionacei. If it is anything besides cinctulus id say p. Fimicola

P. cinctulus is rare to find growing on cow dung, although it happens.

P. papilionaceus has a wide variability, often lacking this feature. Mycologists had a handful of different names for this species before, partly because of this.
I think the stipe screams P. papilionaceus. But like you say, the zoned cap is a bit strange.
I don't think you can get a definitive ID without more photos (=more mushrooms and photos showing the gills better)

Here's another picture of the gills:

As you can see, it's very black now. However, when it was found, it's gills were distinctly brown and mottled (as can be vaguely seen in the first picture). This just strikes me as not a papilionaceus, since all of those that I've seen have grayish mottled gills with never really more than a hint of brown.

If you look at your picture it does have the teeth like protrusions around the cap.
