    #23406083 - 07/03/16 05:01 AM (7 years, 6 months ago)

So im not sure im posting this in the right place but anyway i want to preserve a dried mushroom for decoration purposes
Is there anything that i can coat a dried mushroom in to prevent any water entering?

Plastination.

It's a damn fickle process though.

Works best with fresh mushrooms, but that adds complexity to the process, dried polypores like Ganoderma which don't lose their shape when dried can be coated in a varnish or similar, though it would be better to wax them.

Here is a dried turkey tail plastinated using wax.
