Rifle, pistol, whatever. Make them all complicated and difficult to attain. Mass shootings will plummet in response. Retards who wanna cry about "muh pershunal defense weapuns!" Can still get them. Everyones happy.

Agreed. And that's what I've been saying. When I say take away, I mean, take away the current regulations and current easy access to guns. Make it difficult but still possible to own firearms for the gun enthusiast
And taking away the lax gun regulations isn't punishment

Sounds like a thinly veiled threat, bro. What did you think that would sound like.
You said everyone can still get their personal defense weapons. I said tell that to everyone in California. California just effectively banned the sale of all AR-15's and made it criminal to own a standard capacity mag for existing ones. It's in the first post of this thread. This isn't rocket science, how you took that as a threat beats me.

Because the typical response of a lot of these gun fethisists is "from my cold dead hands" and you provided no context for what you said.
Anyways. Moving on with my life now.

Bout fucking time, trolled enough for one day?
The fact is, with everyone talking about "sensible gun regulations" and "making it harder for criminals to obtain guns" meanwhile, California just passed GUN CONFISCATION,
And yes, taking arms from 80 million law abiding gun owners is "punishment"

Notice how it's always the antigunners that turn things from a civic debate to a shit flinging one. With the exception of masked, gotta give him credit for his attitude towards the topic despite our differing views.

There's a percentage of people that will, at some point become mentally unstable in every country. A country with such a large population there will be more of these. Not all of them are going to get their guns and go out on a killing spree, but some, hopfully a very small number will. If everyone that became mentaly unstable were to go get their guns and do the same, there could be carnage somewhere, on a daily basis.
The thing about an unarmed, and much less populated society is, that when those that do become "mentally unstable" the very small number of them that would become so derange that, they would go on "killing spree" using guns, aren't going to be able to do so. They would have to be a very determind "mentaly unstable" person to do that. With the copy-cat element removed I doubt, very much that they would choose the next best thing. A pointy stick. That would take all the 'fun' out of it.

There's always driving a car through a crowd and knives/swords. That seems pretty popular in asian countries. On another note, an armed citizen is the best defense against a mass shooter. That is why we need constitutional carry. Mass shooters are often stopped by a concealed carry holder, that just never makes the news as it doesn't fit their agenda. Not saying give everyone a gun like some liberals are saying we do, but people who want to be able to carry a pistol should be able to without spending a lot of money and jumping through a lot of hoops. Most police are actually advocates of concealed carry. As a matter of fact, a mass shooting was cut short just last week. Man in south carolina night club starts shooting into a crowd. Injures 4 people before a man with a concealed carry permit shot him.

I think mass shootings are much less of a problem than people make them out to be. You're close to a thousand times more likely to be robbed than killed in a mass shooting. Making it hard for citizens to obtain guns will do a lot more harm than good. Perhaps in a country with very few firearms things may be different, but there are more guns than people in the US and they aren't going anywhere. Making it hard to get them will just deter the less determined gun advocates (probably most gun owners) from purchasing one to defend themselves and do little to curb the availability of guns to people intent on armed robbery and murder.

The Governor signed the following bills today:
AB 1135 (Levine): Bans common and constitutionally-protected firearms that have magazine locking devices. AB 1511 (Santiago): Criminalizes loaning of firearms between personally known, law-abiding adults, including family members, sportspersons, and competitors. AB 1695 (Bonta): Makes a non-violent misdemeanor a prohibiting offense. SB 880 (Hall): Bans common and constitutionally-protected firearms that have magazine locking devices. SB 1235 (de Leon): New restrictions on ammunition purchases; creates a DOJ database of ammunition owners. SB 1446 (Hancock): Statewide confiscatory ban on all lawfully-possessed standard-capacity ammunition feeding devices that hold more than 10 round; exemption for retired police
The Governor vetoed the following bills today:
AB 1673 (Gipson): Would have redefined “firearms” to include objects that are not firearms AB 1674 (Santiago): Would have banned buying more than one firearm of any type within a 30-day period AB 2607 (Ting): Would have dramatically expanded the reach of secret “Gun Violence Restraining Orders” SB 894 (Jackson): Would have re-victimized victims of theft by criminalizing the failure to report lost and stolen firearms
So now you have to be entered into a criminal database just to purchase ammo?? And of course ex cops are exempt from these laws.

Funny thing about that is half of them already are and yet... well this forum of what 100,000+ members is proof to the effectiveness of enforcing bans...
And of course we can't forget the fortune the government spends trying to enforce them and how many innocent people who never hurt anyone get seriously injured or face serious property damages or lose a pet or even get killed on raids.
Let's fix the problem of society sucking ass and teaching people how to be responsible. But... that's a hard platform to stand on as a politician I guess. Better to say IM GOING TO DO SOMETHING than to say I'm going to help you do something.
