to each there own man.. we will never see eye to eye on this subject. i live in the exact opposite law wise and i love it.. i moved here by choice so i could enjoy certain liberties.
i just dont think more gun laws fixes anything. i feel like the people that are getting paid to do the current background checks should do a better job.

So less than 300 deaths a year is just ground to take the 20-30 million ar-15's out of the hands of law abiding gun owners who will never shoot anyone? And that's assuming these laws would actually prevent mass shootings, which they won't.
What about background checks for ammo? Do you think someone intent on killing someone would not just drive to a neighboring state to purchase ammo and illegally bring it back to CA? Or buy reloading press and load their own ammo...

That's where I stand nowadays ... "Agree to disagree"
I have friends who are huge gun nuts, and it's a subject we just leave alone lol
I would never in a million years live in the states, for many reasons, and that's one of them.
I hear there are states where people walk around with handguns in holsters like its the fucking Wild West or something. Texas maybe? Haha thanks but no thanks.
My gun rights are infringed on from your viewpoint, but I still feel a sense of freedom. Something you Americans are so convinced is tied with owning a gun

my state is truely the wild wild west. we have open carry laws and it doesnt bother anybody.. hell i was getting a burrito the other day and there was a handful of 5 or 6 people all carrying guns.. and about 25000 people here have their ccw permits. and really the only gun violence is people that shoot people with guns that are already hot ie: criminals already.

yup. Where I live almost 10% of people have carry permits. So you go to a store and maybe 1 in 15 people will likely be carrying a gun and you will never know it. We have open carry as well but you don't see it very often I suppose everyone just gets their carry permit. Contrary to the claims of liberals, these people are far less likely to commit a crime than you're average citizen. Statistically, the people they are scared of are less dangerous than them.

That's crazy stuff man.
I live in a town of 80,000 people. I don't know our official stats but we are considered pretty high crime
While you hear about gun related crime and claim it's just because it's criminals and it's going to happen anyway....on my side, It's very rare I hear of a gun related deaths and injuries in our local News. Very rare.

I do think it would be cool to carry a gun like a cop. Can't even imagine it
But the novelty of the idea wears off when I think about sandy hook and shit like that.
We don't have shit like that. And in my opinion, it's because of our unified gun control policies

Those poor criminals! The home owners should have cowered in the corner and called the police to bring hot blankets and cocoa!

So I'm in a more rural area of my province. Very redneck. Lots of hunters.
With our PAL (possession acquisition licence), which is a 2 day course with practical and theoretical testing, Canadians can own shotguns and certain rifles and such. Lots of restrictions on ammo. Like not allowed certain kinds and such.
So everyone I know has shotties sitting around. You will get blown away if you break into anyone's home here lol. Fully support that kind of justice too
But all sorts of rules for storage and transporting. You can't walk around town with one. And for good reason in my opinion.
And handguns are under the RPAL. And those are tough to get. It also allows police to execute a warrant anytime on your home if you have an RPAL
Handguns have one purpose only.
We do read stories of cops busting meth shacks and such and they always find stolen guns. So I'm not arguing that a criminal is a criminal
I feel Canada makes it harder to be involved with gun crime tho

I feel safe. I feel more freedom than an average American. I feel I live in a peaceful country. And I feel I have reasonable access to firearms.
Guns are fun don't get me wrong. I enjoy packing my defender when I'm in bear territory and hiking in the raw wilderness.
I don't really feel I need guns to feel safe at home tho
And tighter gun regulation hasn't taken away any of my freedoms. You Americans attach so much of your freedom to the right to bear arms. It's odd to me.
But each to their own. I applaud California that's all

Doesn't sound like it, sounds to me if those meth users wanted to shoot something up, there wasn't much stopping them
The biggest deference between America and Canada is culture, we have a toxic culture, not from having too many guns but from having no morals and an unwillingness to address root causes of crime
In actuality, the states with the highest levels of gun ownership, you mostly see the lowest levels of crime. I'm old enough to remember my fellow high school mates with gun racks in their vehicles, with loaded guns in them. You couldn't even imagine that nowadays, so what changed?

the thing is, they were supposed to be surrendered some time around april, this new legislation is just more of the same as a response to another horrific act of violence by liberals
Banning something is not a liberal action. Learn your terms before you start flinging them around.

I'm not seeing where he called banning things "liberal"
Maybe you should learn to read before flinging shit
