Agar disappearing and excessive pooling water (pics)
    #23403731 - 07/02/16 10:49 AM (7 years, 6 months ago)

Hi all, been away for a while and just checked on grains and my agar. Grains look like their doing ok if not taking a little longer than expected, however I am in a cold climate.
Problem I have is with my PDA plates, the Agee seems to be disappearing (mycelium eating it??) and there is excessive pooling water. There was comdensation on w of the plates but no where near enough that would make such a pool of water. I may just chuck and grain to agar the other plates I have? Anyone put in their 2 pence?  They are direct from MS syringe btw

It looks like myc is digesting the food coloring in the agar. This is
normal. Condensatiin is caused by drastic temp swings. Put them in a
place with relatively stable temps and they should not do that much.

That makes perfect sense as they are in the cupboard where the boiler is... Thanks
Mate they have now been moved
