used mycelium for grain spawn?

Can I use mycelium from a cake thats already been flushed a few times for a grain transfer? I only have 2 small fruiting Chambers and I dont want to resort to only one or two jars at a time in case they get contaminated and I fuck up my chances of grain transfer, so can I wait until my first batch is all finished before using the mycelium for grain tranfer or do I need to set aside a jar after colonization?

Using a spore and bacteria covered cake that was fruiting in your FC for god knows how long?

Make clean grain spawn for g2gs, the second you expose those colonized grains to open air, you will contaminate them making them only suitable for fruiting. You are going to be mixing colonized grains (resiliant to contams) with freshly sterilized grains (very prone to contams), even 1 mold spore could spell disaster.
In all honesty, I suggest that you inoculate with wedges if you are relatively new to the hobby instead of G2g. G2G is a bit risky if you don't have your sterile tek nailed down as a brain impulse.

obviously this is a big no-no as stated above.
but this gets me wondering. could you do exactly what hes saying, but to agar instead?
of course the agar would explode with molds too, but if theres any clean myc, the agar would be the medium to expose it right?
and then a few transfers later, end up with good myc?
(this is all theoretical of course, since it would make NO SENSE to do it this way when you could take one of any of the mushrooms grown from the spent substrate to create a clean agar myc culture lol)

Yes, you can. People put grains to agar all the time for a number of reasons.

well of course. i was more referring to a grain specifically taken from an old used spent substrate. but i guess its all the same in the end; just have to get the clean myc isolated.

If we take a spore print instead will the mushroom still be potent afterwards or is it trash?

A wedge is when you cut a piece of colonized agar and put that to grains as your inoculant. It is the safest way to inoculate.
Yeah, you can still eat the caps, the spores contain zero actives.

why start a grow on old dying myc that's also dirty as fuck? making it an awful lot harder for yourself than it needs to be..

i never would.. the person above, or perhaps it was OP was the one talking about using dirty old used spawn. i was just going along with it lol.
which is also why i added in, 'theoretically' in my previous post. of course its stupid. i was just wondering what would happen for OP's sake :p
