Hello. I am going to sterilise the jars under 8 psi for 100 minutes. Is it likely that they will dry?

Hey
Give us some more details dude. Whats in the jars, BRF cakes or grain? And why such arbitrary number of 8psi?
Consult this table for sterilization times:

That's a terrible chart and completely inaccurate. It needs to be done more like a parabola, not linear.
I've had grains fucked with endos that even 25 psi for 150 minutes couldn't kill them. So suggesting 20 minutes at 20 psi is sufficient is straight up ludicrous.
So to answer OP's question. Uh no. 100 minutes isn't even sufficient for grain jars these days. 120 minutes minimum @15 psi is the general consensus nowadays.
100@8 is insufficient for grain jars. Could work for pftek.

Because the pressure cooker's specs says it operates under 0.5 bar. The substrate consists of vermiculite, brown rice flour, and water.

It shouldn't dry out assuming you didn't impatiently let all the air out at the end lol.

I don't understand. Could you please explain as to how releasing the air/pressure (from the pressure cooker) at the end is going to dry the substrate?

Because pressure increases boiling temperature. 15 psi is ~250F boiling temp. Dropping the pressure suddenly is going to make a lot of water steam away as it goes back down to 212F.

Exactly, say the substrate is @ 250 degrees, it's not boiling because it's under pressure. You suddenly release all the pressure the substrate is still 250 degrees, it will begin to boil, losing moisture. That's the mainreason we always let the PC cool drop to zero on its own. You can't rush anything in this hobby, it is 90% waiting.

my wife took the pressure rocker off my PC the moment it was done.. once!
she learned a valuable lesson about pressure and steam. and i ended up with a bunch of shit jars. it was a good day :p
