I think i'm going to see "the passion"while enhanced

I'm thinking about doing a few caps before Mel gibson's "the passion".i'm sure it would be a pretty intense experience, especially for those of us with christian leanings.it's supposed to be a very powerful movie so seeing it while shrooming could be pretty mind blowing.

It is just a movie. Emotions and special effects and great acting and drugs do not equate to any kind of esoteric knowledge. This is called "entertainment" not growth or insight.

The possibility for an experience remains, all the same :smirk:

I hope you have a good time, nethrill!

I disagree, Swami. I think movies are art. Movies are for entertainment, but they are also pieces of art that can, in my opinion, allow growth and insight.

However, The Passion of Christ sounds like a really boring movie to me. I have a feeling it will be one of those 4 hour snore-a-thons.

I hope you don't get freaked out easily while tripping.  I can just imagine seeing a crucifixion while tripping.

I, too, plan on seeing this film while tripping. I am by no means a Christian... however, a movie about the life of the original hippie has to be interesting! Also, movies can be incredibly insightful. One has to remember that the mind is still at work and the actors, scene, and dialog can trigger thoughts that reveal much information about self and surrounding. It is like listening to Pink Floyd or something... you just have to use the medium of art wisely.

I believe Siddhartha lived at least a few hundred years earlier.

I dont think that the crucifixion would be a good thing to watch while you're tripping unless you are ready to integrate it. I mean, the main moral of the story is that good guys get the great reward of being nailed to a tree.

either way, be careful. I knew a guy that read most of the bible on a very large dose of LSD and was never the same afterwar d...

Haha, that reminds me of the time that Ned read The Bible to Homer when he was all baked... he was just sitting there with his pupils dilated, going "Wow, wow, wow, God does so much for me and he doesn't ask for anything in return".  :stash:

Okay, ja, movies can be considered enertainment... that is what happens when you have a business enter a deal with you. Its a symbiotic relationship.. the musical artist or the scriptwriter or whatever get their art out there and get funds for doing so, and the company brings in the profit.... no debate there.

But there is often times a lot of obvious, more subtle, and well hidden meanings in movies, music, art, literature... Hell, sometimes the whole notion of "enertainment" is the sugar coating on the pill to get the "Unenlightened" to swallow.

I don't know much about this particular meaning, but I imagine it is going to be pretty potent stuff. Its one of the most powerful and emotional dramas in history. Of course, you probably won't be the only one crying in the audience.
Peace.
