First time poster, long time follower. I have always enjoyed watching the grow journals and the awesome advice given over the years. I have tried to grow mushrooms a couple of times in my life; unsuccessfully.
A year or two ago I bought a spore pack at a decent price. As usual my cakes became contaminated before they ever saw the outside of a jar .
A little over a month ago I was sitting around and noticed some old BRF and Verm sitting around the house. I figured what the hell and went to work. I injected with a B strain(I think), but now know that probably wasn't the best option for cake grows. After a month I had one cake fully colonized, so I proceeded to dunk and roll.
I noticed somebody post a fruiting chamber that was a Syntha-6 container and thought it to be a good idea since I already had one available. It took over a week to see pinning and then I finally noticed growth. I keep my RH above 99% and temp around 77% but have around 20 holes in my container, with perlte not covering any of these holes. I thought the lack of growth may be to much open air space from things I've read on this page.
Today I moved the cake into a Styrofoam cooler with around 8 holes in the bottom, covered with perlite. As well as 4 bigger holes towards the top. After moving I noticed bruising on the one decent sized mushroom I had Growing out of the top, I think it broke . I am also pretty sure I have some bruised aborts at the bottom.
I am including a picture around 1 weeks growth, the next is 2 day of growth later, and the last is the new chamber with bruised shroom; as well as photos of the 2 chambers. Any thoughts would be GREATLY appreciated.

You could have just used a spare tub or spent like $5 for a new one, put together a proper sgfc and those fruits would have never bruised from moving. Handling cakes is not recommended when they have new pins or fruits.

Yeah, big doh over here. Scfg is pretty vague other than drill a good amount of holes and have between 4" to 7" of perlite. My perlite is severely lacking though.
Is the Styrofoam not good to use? I figured it made more sense. The initial Syntha 2 was because it is already a plastic container, like the rubber maids and other chambers used. Only problem being small opening to pic cakes from.
Can I harvest and do another dunk and roll?

Drill 1/4" holes in a 2" x2" grid pattern on all 6 sides that's lid and bottom

Your restricting light and air flow its got nothing to do with being plastic it needs to be transparent Yes dunk roll

Ahhh, I think I see it now. I wasn't getting much moisture on the walls, but i think it was due to lack of perlite.
I will make proper adjustments. What can I do to salvage what I've already done?
Should I harvest everything then dunk & roll? I remember reading you get around 2-3 flushes per cake. Also read the 2nd dunk & roll only requires the dunk.
Can I essentially restart the project with the same cake? Or SHOULD i even restart it? Do you think the adjustments will help the smaller ones grow? or does this batch look like a waste......other than a batch of aborts.

Moisture goes on the cakes not the walls Only roll if needed but later into the fruiting I was told could cause a microclimate for contaminates At worse bin it all and don't try gain nothing, or give it a go get a couple more shrooms or a fat flush or it doesn't work and gets binned anyway..... I'd give it a go. My first attempt was recommended to be binned twice on my 3rd flush now made a SGFC for the second flush and had a gorgeous flush check my mycofarm thread
