pyramids
    #2340090 - 02/16/04 06:30 AM (12 years, 9 months ago)

After a visit to the Mayan city of Chichen-Itza (which if you ever get the chance to visit I reccommend HIGHLY) and a mushroom trip watching Yellow Submarine and I began to ponder the pyramid and the number 3 with the meaning of life. I see a pyramid as a period of "ascending" as life is.  You are stronger in your younger days (the base) but began to peak as you age in knowledge, coming to a fine point.

This being one of my first meaningful posts, it's hard for me to type out what I am thinking, but by this post I am trying to work on being more open and sharing what I am feeling (i'm a shy fellow ). I would like to hear other opinions, and will probably post a reply once I write it out and it isn't 5:30am  :spliff:  Thanks.

Aren't pyramids four sided?

in a 3 dimensional world, yes but when drawn they have 3 sides. On further thought I should have said triangle  :frown:

I dont think the egyptians would have aligned their buildings as well without the use of trignometry. Just using 3 sides.

Glad to see you posting here jrod

in order to understand the triangle, you have to understand the forms that precede it.

first is the point -----> .

The point represents unity. It is the alpha and the omega.

But the point wants to examine itself, and in order to do that it must create a perspective outside of itself. It does this by reflection, like so:

. | .

then it connects to its reflected self and forms the line:

.______.

The line represents conflict and polarity. The two ends of the line are the same and yet different. In order to resolve this conflict, the line must embrace another dimension. Thats why a perfect triangle's point is in the center of the line (and up a few degrees):

.
./_\.

Well, then the triangle becomes the pyramid, the pyramid becomes the cube, the cube becomes some kind of pentad, that shit becomes the star tetrahederon and so on and so forth until you get all the way up to metatron's cube.

but the basic lesson of the triangle is that binary conflicts are resolved in higher dimensions, if you will pardon the extremely loose and unscientific way I use that term.
