Southeast US ID Request
    #23400877 - 07/01/16 11:35 AM (7 years, 6 months ago)

Habitat:
Farm land, cattle present, shin high grass and weeds throughout

Gills:
Dark blueish/purple, intact

Stem:
about 4inches, a little thicker than a pencil, white, smooth, hollow

Cap:
About three inches, goldish brown on top, kinda smooth, spherical, what looks like a nipple in the center on top of cap

Spore print color:
Very dark blue or purple, pic attached

Bruising:
did not bruise them

Other information:
There was another out there, huge, maybe 6 inches across, veil on stem and looked like the two I included in this post. However, there were a few ants and some white fuzzy stuff on the gills. That one could have been a friend, but it was too far gone to safely pick, right?

Note: the pics of the spore print were taken at about 4hrs after sitting. they are in my car, on a clean piece of paper, covered with a paper bag. (no other options really, at work ATM)

My questions are:

Is this a friend? If so, what species?
Does the spore print look good so far?
Does it look like there is a possibility to create a spore syringe from the print?

NOTE: these pics are smaller after removing the EXIF data, if you'd like a higher res version just ask and I'll see what I can do

a pic of the gills, and bruising would really help you get an answer on this one.

Psilocybe cubensis looks plausible.

It's Psilocybe cubensis. Photograph the whole mushroom in one piece before you spore print next time, it makes it a lot easier for people to ID.

They've already been drying, but here are some current pics. Working on getting sharper/higher def pics now.

EDIT: Just saw the ID from MidnightCity, Thanks for the positive ID. I will follow your guidance next time!!
