Pine mushrooms differ to urban?
    #23400431 - 07/01/16 09:03 AM (7 years, 6 months ago)

For the last 3 years I've been picking from the same patch and this year it's a bit slow
I've been looking in a local pines forest and there are pine nettles everywhere
Ive found mushrooms that look so similar to what I usually find but alot uglier and darker
I found a decent looking one tonight but it's not bruising up blue either
Won't let me upload a picture
I have yet to do a spore print for it

The new ones I'm finding are also 10 times more fragile
So hard to break off without ripping the whole thing up and the stem almost falls to pieces in my.hand

Any advice?

Really just want to know of the texture and appearance changes much from urban to forest

From memory the more blue they are the higher the psilocybin concentration right?
Probably just a myth

The mushrooms you're describing don't sound like Psilocybe. No bruising and extreme fragility are two red flags.
Don't eat anything until you take a spore print and post photos of the print/mushroom. If you can't upload a photo on the shroomery, try an external website like www.imgur.com
