Hey people,
I was thinking of taking some datura seeds and wondering what kind of experiences people have had on it. I've done, pot, shroomz, dxm, all that fun stuff but acid. So, I was wondering if people think it is a good idea to try this stuff. Well, thanks for everyone's feedback.

Dont take datura. Anti-cholingernic (sp) deliriants are not mine or your idea of fun. They are deadly, Unpleasant and will make you sick and possibly kill you. In otherwords stay the fuck away from datura unless you know what your doing. Even than alot of people have been burned by datura who knew what they were doing.

if you are thinking about taking Datura then
be prepared..

in fact what kind of datura are you taking?
the one i?m with is datura stramonium aka
"jimson weed or thorn apple"

I found a patch one day at a handball court.
i?ll never forget that day. after reading
"food of the gods" over and over datura became
one of the obsessions to obtain especially
since it?s habitat is widespread all over
the globe.

There I was, playing handball where the ball
would occasionally hop over the fence and into
some manured grass (dog shit) time and time
again, then one day on to a jimson weed..

At first I payed no mind until I noticed the
white flower arched over the ball. I fell into
shock while the descriptions of the plant
(from the book) played over and over again
in my mind as I analyzed what was in front of
me. (thorned leaves, thorned seeds, white tubular
flowers.)

I shouted "what the fuck???" I can?t believe this!!"
all the time I was searched roadsides and abandoned
highways in search of this plant, it was actually
in my local park in an overcrowded greenless city..!

I greedily took five small seeds.. the size of a golfball
right there on the spot, with no hesitation. After
2 hours I thought "maybe i was wrong with the identification"
I didn?t feel a thing, so i smoked a joint. things
got really scary right after because i didn?t feel
the weed! That?s when I decided to go home.

The next thing I knew I was talking to people who
simply were not there! I noticed this because
after the conversations, friends, family and
whoever would just fade away. No colors, no trails,
nothing but pure hallucinations. I thought then,
"I better just stay in bed" this can get really
ugly.

Then I had breathing problems and difficulty
swallowing. I barely could drink a drop (literarily)
of water. I thought I was doomed... I kept
hearing voices and I thought my aunt was calling
me (she?s in another country at that time) and
when I asked my parents if she was calling me
they gave me a crazy look, and I don?t even know
if that really happened.

The worst was when I stumbled onto jimson weed
at a dorm grass lawn. But this plant had purple
flowers instead of white.

I gave it to a friend... and it was the worst
trip I ever seen anyone on and i only gave him
TWO seeds!!

He thought he was at work (he was in my house)
the whole time. He kept "working" and calling
people that were with me his coworkers. It was
funny seeing him perform his work duties in
air for some time but the laughter stopped
because he was this way for 10 hours... we
never thought he woould make it back.

He was foaming from the mouth, he kept taking
his socks off and putting them back on
getting ready for work when he was actullyy
off for the entire weekend.

things got so weird that we decided to drive him
around to get some fresh air but he had no idea that
he was in the car.. He kept opening the car
door trying to walk out; with no expression on his face
and no idea that the car was moving at all.

16 hours had passed, he finally came back a bit but he didn?t
remember any of this but he was still tripping. he saw people
come in the house (one was hanging on the door coat hanger) that
never existed. I almost teared when he finally came back
to his senses and I still feel regret for giving him such
a crazy trip. I am grateful that the purple flowered datura
had only 2 seed on it because if there were more... who knows
what would have happened..

Be careful with daturas..IMO being careful with daturas is not
an option you can choose, for it chooses what it wants you to do
and in its wrath there pretty much nothing you can do about it.

take heed....

if you are interested in datura... read Don Juan by Carlos Casteneda. That might give you some insight on the spiritual properties and preparations for datura.

be careful... she'll take control of you.

I used to be obsessed with the stuff, hence the name and avatar. Eventually I came to the conclusion that it just isn't worth it.

Datura is very magically seducing, in my experiences. I can feel her seductive powers every time I meet her acquaintance. Every time I see Datura, I am struck by her beauty. At night, when her flowers are open to greet her Luna-tic ally, her sweet scent attempts to pull me into her spell ....

I have not yet and most definitely don't plan to be pulled in, but I certainly find this energy very fascinating and quite rare in plantlife. It sort of seems to me as if Datura is a plant with a fairly distinctive psychology. Quite evolved amongst the plant kingdom, she knows what she wants. She seems a Black Sorceress in the body of a delicately beautiful blooming shrub- and complete eye candy to me.

I see that thepodman may also have been beckoned by this seductive spell? I agree that it's just not worth the insatiable curiosity. One does not have to read all the nutty stories of her victims to come to this. Spend a day (maybe on shrooms?) in the physical presence of this plant and possibly you'll see (feel) what I'm rambling about.

I never completely discount the idea of being taken on a perilous Datura journey some time in my mortal life. I understand that only the highest priestesses & priests of the mind & the other-realm have met the prerequisites for this journey. Maybe some day....

Do any of you have anything to say about the differences, if any, between the effects of Datura and Mandrake or Hensbane?

I stupidly took Daytura a few times at age 15-17 roughly. With no other intent than getting out of it. Boy did it do that.
I was chased by swat teams, packs of dogs, danced with a traffic light who came to life, walked into strangers homes, had severe blackouts, and a loss of memory the next day. I had no reliable trip-sitters, and was left to wander on my own. It was a very unique experience.
The main difference for me was not being able to talk myself out of my hallucinations, and they were SO incredibly real. To this day I remember certain elements so vividly, like the dancing with the traffic light who had morphed into an oblina-esque character (Aaaah! Real monsters!) with a face and bent over a crowded road at peak hour traffic to invite me to dance with her, which naturally i obliged. To this day i wonder what it must have looked like to passers-by, and how many cars nearly hit me.
I can see how truly dangerous it could be and how all those horror stories could actually be true. My dads mate used to tell me of one of his mates who took it and thought the line on the road was a blanket and tucked himself in, and was run over. Always thought, yeah right, til I tried it.
In saying all of this, I have not ruled out taking it again in smaller doses in an appropriate setting with a trustworthy trip-sitter, as it could be an amazing power to harness if it could be done.
I'm 37 now, this was all done over 20 years ago.

I had a similar experience in that i was at at a friends house but convinced it was my house, re-arranged.

yea although interesting and easy to get when your young its NOT something fun insightful or really anything good and not even a good story to tell ur buddies. i tried it a few times few years after teh internet came out and only dialup days. its not a nice dreamy feeling or anything. took it before bed to have awesome dreams. woke up and could barely see from enlarged pupils and from the dryness in my eyes.  very uncomfortable easily startlied mouth and throat dried out nose dried out probably got a nose bleed even.  felt sick to my stomach and very flu like. smoking was harsh with slight head change and no one is ever like oh i am glad i did tht.  eat an edible or kratom. eat some mushrooms. there is a reason no sites called dutury or morninggloryy and few people ever try or use other then very rarely as small add mixture in ayahuasca or other ceremony. remember erowid experiences are selected because they are well written and make things sound perhaps better then they are and although give negative expereinces aswell it doenst give a true cross section of real numbers like amazon ratings.
