What size are the mini-mono tubs? I saw 2 quarts per tub but don't know how to extrapolate from that...
I'd guess about 27-30qt mono. that's what I find anyways.

These mini monos are about 20 quarts. I only have 4 27 quart minis so that would not have been enough for this comparison grow. They are a little lower so I am going to be looking for some of these clones to hit the lid. Things I am looking for is
Hits the lid Canopy Speedy colonization (they are all equal in this regard) Fast pinset Good potency Brown spores Solid Bio Efficency. At least around 125% first flush or better.
Whichever one manages to satisfy all or most of these makes the cut and I will use spores from it to move the lineage a generation.

I love using 2 quarts in a 20 qt mini with about @ 2:1 ration. I feel like the results are usually on the higher end of the BE spectrum than if I threw 3 in a 27 quart @ 1.5:1
Good stuff Pasty. The RW are about to be back with a vengeance

. Should be interesting how they do on the different substrates. Hear an lot about how coir verm can't stack up to poo so this should be fun to watch.
Hey Pasty. Nice to see you around. Can you explain what you mean by this? I always thought manure as a nutritious additive.....I don't see how coir/verm would out perform coir/verm manure.
I'll be spawning a monotub of Pan Cyan Goliath tonight with a 50/25/25 coir/verm/manure sub. Pans don't love tubs but I can't be bothered to make a SGFC just for one grow.

I think it could be due to the amount of water coir can retain.

Yeh but still using a whole brick of coir, just tossing in a quart or two of manure

I personally don't think the coir is gonna outperform, nor do I think the poo will either. At least not significantly. I betting on it being mostly a wash with perhaps a slight edge going to the poo.
The poo in this case is actually a mixed sub of coir verm hpoo and worm castings. This is to try and help the poo keep up with the coir in terms of water content while providing a big nitrogen boost with the worm castings. The wet weight of both tubs is pretty much the same.

One other variable is the physical layout and composition of the matrix. Energy and protein synthesis for transport and strength respectively.
Can allow for conservation of resources in the spawn. Using cellulose structures instead of more chitin. Siphon and wicking action.
Just a thought

I have been working on this in particular in other experiments for some time. My next grow log will address some of my other ideas regarding this. I was going to consider it here but one variable at a time right?

I am a weapon.

Also, unrelated question for you, pasty. If I use the SFD's from mycosupply, do I have to worry about getting them wet? I can mention sponsor names on here, correct? I forget..

Guys please. If your gonna be doing battle, be sure to put it on youtube
At any rate I am planning to have this sucker out soon. The 4th gen feels like a good milestone for me, not as tough as the second gen was but still good to be past it. I am hoping for a smooth 5th after this one is done.

What is your end goal here? Are you developing a new strain? I missed something, apparently.
