Well I used used 7 as a random number. I can sterilize 12 at a time so that's what I used to do. It's just as easy to load the jars and sterilize them as it is to pasteurize. No difference other than when you sterilize you don't bother to check the temps and and you finish in 45 min.

I will warn you though, expect a mess when you pasteurize in jars. I always dread that part of cultivation It's not the grain prep that gets me, it's cleaning the jars after pasteurization. I use a drum barrel to pasteurize my jars though so I can easily have 30-40 jars to clean after a spawning session.

Takes me no time to clean jars. A quick rinse and into the dishwasher with em.
But even that is too much effort compared to my beloved buckets

Yeah, coir flakes off far easier than poo and straw. Fucking annoying to clean, especially since my hands don't fit inside the jar Have to clean them with a damn brush.

Do you guys clean your grain jars after spawning? Sometimes I just leave the little bits of myc and grain in them and don't bother. I don't have a dishwasher.
I just decided to run some tubs of Oak Ridge without casing. The results are dramatically different. I had wall to wall canopies on my cased tubs. My uncased tubs are sparsely spread, and much larger mushrooms. Yield will suffer dramatically.
For anyone living in a desert climate, I highly suggest casing if you want to get the most out of the first flush.
I don't dunk tubs. That seems like a huge hassle that I don't want to deal with, and don't even know how to go about doing it.

I wish hpoo was that easy I get it for free so have been working with it since I started which probably is why I haven't had a good harvest yet ... maybe one of these days I'll buy up another package of coir and run a cvg see how I do

It's actually more about genetics spawn ratio and conditions, poo can still deliver. In fact I really like how robust the diverse sub can be. This tub was the same composition as the one I ran in the OP.

It yielded 3237 wet grams first flush in the end. Pretty good I think. The point of this was to show people who think bulk substrate is everything, that it's really just a water reservoir. So use what you got, what's cheap, time efficient. If you have a ranch and it's right outside your door then use poo. If you live in a city and don't have a truck use coir. It's all gravey.

How big are those tubs I didn't see that in the op? And if you had answered or mentioned it I apologize

The tubs in the OP are small, 18 quarts or so. They only hold 2 quarts spawn and 3 quarts sub. The tub I posted just now is a 66 quart sterilite. I did 7 quarts spawn and 10 quarts sub IIRC.

I use mini tubs to do ms grows to search for clones and then to test the clones once I have em. When I used to grow for real I would then use the bigger tubs with proven clones to get the good yield. I don't like ending up with a huge amount of bunk fruit or put a lot of effort into a grow only to find the genetics are poor fruiters etc.
The 66 quart monos also work good with bottle subs. Fill em up and they work the exact same but put out better flushes after the first.

I wish I had read alot more before jumping in head first but I have gotten enough to get a couple of clones so my tubs won't be so disappointing I mean the good thing with my failures is it has gave me good practice and allowed me to see how things shouldn't look haha and I was able to with the help of a few of you guys to pinpoint errors so that's been good

We all make stupid mistakes at the start. Very very few people don't have any bone headed stories. Hell my first grow had a drip shield in the chamber.

Oh yeah. And there weren't always people around to say anything about it. As a victim to stupid teks and prolonged ignorance, I'm pretty in favor of the aggressive approach.
