Damn, those look very large and solid. With bigger mushrooms like that, I usually don't get quite a full canopy. I wonder if normal monos might be better, due to better FAE. I always run into problems dialing in mini mono's, but I haven't used them very often.
Beautiful fruits, regardless. I'm looking forward to seeing how they end up, because they will probably look much nicer when they are finished. Whenever I grow AA+, I notice that it usually kicks out a few pins that get enormous before the full pinset is established. Maybe your strain is expressing an exaggeration of that tendency?

Actually most of my runs with this lineage have followed that trend of a few early but huge bastards. This one really is a lot like the AA+ but with brown spores and fewer hollow fruits.
Dank to be honest it doesn't surprise me that at least one did better on the coir. Even with highly domesticated lineages, there are huge variables. I mean if you can find a strain of pleurotus that eats oil, why can't dung lovers prefer coconut husk?

Of course! It's just so goddamned interesting that similar clones (varieties) would have different preferences. Makes me want to get some shit secured as a stand-by. I feel I have a couple of varieties that would prefer the shit/straw combo, but you never know until you try!
I like Coir a lot myself; it's so foolproof. But thank you so much for showing how much genetics play in terms of favoring one over the other. That makes a whole lot of sense.

That's why I always tell people to run their clones and isolates on several different substrates in different configurations. Preference is real. Hell I have a clone that hates being cased.

I think you messed up the pics of clone B and clone C. The second pic seems to be the same. I was like, "same mutant mushroom in two tubs? Damn nice! .... Oh wait.:lightbulb-ding: "
Some nice big fuckers in there for sure. If that was a canopy with those sized shrooms the sub would disappear.

Man they are really getting big now, even the small pins are bulking up. Might even be ready to print/harvest when I get home tonight. Clone A looks like it will hit the lid

Okay a quick bump. These fruits are nearing the end. Clone A hit the lid, veils are stretching, a couple popped. The veils are clean for the most part which isn't surprising, these tend to be a bit late dropping spores. Caps need to flatten a bit before then go. This tells me I am probably gonna need to harvest tomorrow morning before work which I hate. Guess I will set the alarm extra early so I can properly document the results and take the needed prints.
Clone A
Clone B

Clone C

Clone B coir run is actually starting to get some good headway. Pretty surprising.
