Hey guys, a friend went on a hunt and requested for me to have a look at these. I have a feeling there's about three types in here and it's really not helping me as all I have to go on is these photos they have sent me and they look quite different to what I am used to picking. The mushrooms were found in a grassland type area with a few gum trees present. They are all very similar colour having dark creamy brown top with an orange underside. Apparently there is bruising imminent on a few but not all of... Any help will be appreciated. Thanks everyone. (:

I'm not convinced that there are any P. subaeruginosa in there. Sure, some of them look like they're bruising on the stipe -- but there's zero bluing where they've been cut with scissors. That seems really weird to be, because that's where you'd most likely see the bluing. There's also no bluing on any of the caps or on the gills.
I think they're more likely to be a Cortinarius species or something like that. Get your friend to spore-print some of them.

Yeah, I mean there definitely are some blue stems in there, and that one in particular is very blue -- but at the same time, the bluing is most intense towards the top of the stipe, and gets less and less intense as it gets closer and closer to the actual part of the stipe that was cut. The part of the mushroom that's actually been bruised/handled isn't the part that's bluing.
I could be wrong. The stipes could be be bruised from regular wear and tear, and the new cut-marks just haven't blued yet. But I could be right, and those mushrooms could be poisonous or even deadly.
The simplest way to find out would be to spore-print them. Until then, do not consume.

Do a spore print - Will more than likely come back yellowish/rusty. I picked up a whole bunch of these the other day.
