The Girlfriend Experience

Starring Riley Keough. Produced by Steven Soderbergh (Ocean's 11, Traffic, Erin Brockovich).
It is really, really fucking good. Highly entertaining television. I came across it purely by accident. I was watching a movie and left it on Starz, and that came on next. Now I'm hooked. It's a really atmospheric, dark and suspenseful look into the world of high priced escorts. It's currently drawing an 80% score on rotten tomatoes and metacritic.
Man it really takes a lot for me to like a show enough to stick with it for the long term, but this one is worthy. Y'all should give it a shot if you come across it. I doubt you'd be disappointed. And it may look like some chick shit, but trust me, it ain't.
Some of the review headlines on it:
"Sex, lies, on videotape: The Girlfriend Experience is mind blowing television"
- The Guardian
"The Girlfriend Experience Is One of the Best Shows of the Year"
- Vulture
"The Girlfriend Experience is an immaculate show about the world of empty, paid for sex"
- The Verge
"The Girlfriend Experience review: Starz series is TV’s most adult show out right now"
- Newsday

Oh yeah, and fellas, Riley Keough gets naked A LOT in it...so there's that bonus

Anyway just wanted to give y'all a heads up on a really under the radar show that's out right now. If you're looking for anything in the world of television to follow -- give this one a go.

Thanks man. I'm gonna check it out.
On another note. Have you seen any new movies out yet?
Like Independence Day?
Or the movie I really want to see is Free State of Jones.

Nope, been a little while since I've been to a movie theater. I definitely wanna see Free State of Jones, though. In fact I may do that this weekend

I can't even remember to be honest...lol. Whatever it was it must've not been very good. Or at least not to me anyway.

I've seen a few episodes. It seems like avery well written show, but I don't have Starz so I can't follow it too well.
I made a joke to one of my ex's when she was complaining about paying for school. "GFE time" Luckily it went over her head

Nah you're good my dude, I didn't think this thread would even get a single reply anyways
But yeah man, I did see that!! Shit looks dope as hell. Antoine Fuqua is directing (Training Day), Nic Pizzolatto is the screenwriter (True Detective), and it stars Denzel, Ethan Hawke, and Chris Pratt...that's a hell of a recipe for success right there.

Speaking of revives, it looks like they've started work on trainspotting 2. Hopefully it won't be a flop.

My Starz free subscription ran out (and I'm not renewing) right when shit was really starting to get nuts on this show so I'm going to buy the whole season on Amazon Instant Video
I think the whole season for HD is going to run me in the neighborhood of 20 bucks
