Shrooms to heal addiction

Hello fellow Beings!
I've read about the beautiful effects of psychedelics healing addictions. I, myself, am interested in quitting smoking weed. After my last trip, I absolutely felt as if I could have easily stopped smoking indefinitely. The thing was that I had a whole sack (minus what I smoked during my trip, of course), so I just didnt bother with it. I want to search for this kind of healing on my next trip. A long time ago, I quit smoking cigs without the help of psychedelics and it was 100% worth the fight/effort.
Does anyone here have experience using psychedelics to heal an addiction? How did it go? Were you successful or not? Why/why not? Please share your wisdom and experience...
Thank you very much and have a great day!

I have always had a problem with addiction. Around 2 months ago i took my first shroom trip and instantly quit cifarettes (after 10 years of smoking) - i havnt had one since then, and have no cravings for them (which is almost a miracle for me).
Just over a week ago, i asked the shrooms to cure me of alcohol addition too. So far so good, no drink since then - first week without alcohol for a long time.
Its almost miraculous how psilocybin cures addiction. I think the key is to go into yhe trip with that particular intention (to cure an addiction to something), and the shrooms rewire the brain to make it happen.

I know shrooms will help with quitting things you really want to. I have read many articles about how people feel that a cigarette seems gross and would be a violation to their body and want to change to be healthier or live without it. However, with cannabis being a medicinal plant, it may be harder for you to come up with a reason to quit it unless it affects something in your life that you want to truly change. Good luck.

Shrooms won't cure addiction. No substance will. What they can do is give you a fresh perspective & motivation to make a change. However it takes work, and you need to continue that work.....otherwise you'll back slide. It's something you have to deal with for the rest of your life, though it does get easier. Whatever you're addicted to; that's not the main problem. It became a problem, but something led to it in the first place. Something deep within you. That's what you need to deal with to recover, and that addict mind will find other ways to manifest itself. So you need to remain vigilant. A psychedelic experience can be a good first step, but it's a long journey.

Most people I know who quit addictions after using psychedelics didn't do it on purpose as in they didn't plan on it happening. IF you already feel you have to quit and want to the psychedelics might not actually help you that much.
I think the people with addictions who are stubborn about their addiction and see no reason to quit and doesn't see how it's effecting others...THOSE are the people that would benefit from psychedelics and an eye opening experience but if you already have the idea in your mind that you wanna quit you probably don't really need the psychedelic. Psychedelics like mushrooms tend to make people want to quit they don't really help the person quit or aid the person who's already decided they need to quit. Psychedelics usually just plant the seed and are usually the ones who put that idea in your head in the first place that you need to quit.
