Quick question about my SGFC and a fan. (Updated with results)

I've had many successful grows using BRF cakes. I've recently had to move the et up to a different room where at night we have to have a fan running for reasons that are irrelevant but I can't have the fan removed. It's causing the humidity in my SGFC to drop to the point my cakes are bruising from low RH. Does anyone know if it would work for me to cover the SGFC throughout the night as the fan is on to prevent the RH loss. Then take off the cover in the day. Would it be better for the cakes if I just let the RH drop with the fan for 8 hours or to cover them for the 8 hours? Thanks in advance for any replies

You should just find a better spot for them if you want to see your grow be happy

That's the problem. I can't put them anywhere else unfortunately.

Just mist them when the fan kicks on and cover them for the night like you said

I'm going to take a wild guess and say that the old lady has to sleep with a fan on, and she already hates the mushrooms because they take up so much of your time.Quote:

If that's the case ^this is pretty much your option, they will still grow.

The tray has ended up doing really well. Over 100 pins popped up. There are now many fruits soon to mature. They al popped up on the parts of the sub that weren't colonised on the surface. Second flush I'm going to try scratching the possible overlay and re case and straight into fruiting.

If these are cubes than cubes can not get overlay. And even if they weren't cubes and did have overlay, scratching usually causes more problems than it helps.
What I'm saying is DO NOT scratch it haha.

Noted thanks. So you think just do the usual dunk and patch up any damage then fruit again?

Don't patch anything, just dunk
