My idea for a long term research project

In Dune one of the central themes is that humanity will hit a new level once our scientists begin organizing in a way that findings are shared freely and the researchers don't mind contributing to a project that they will not see the end of their time
or in other words a very broad view of time and what can give a person purpose. That's how cathedrals were built.
Do you think that can work in reality? My idea for a long term project is through whatever means (terraforming or finding) a terrestrial planet that has no intelligent life and can be populated with our own life forms to be able to observe how ecologies change naturally from life depleting the nutrients in soil and the shifting of soil from the actions of animal life, it would be a cross disciplinary but mostly ecological study
but yeah don't look at me I'm just the idea guy *sits back and waits*

You mean you want to create a place like Earth to study what is already happening on Earth?

Can you simplify your OP please? Tripping on 2C-E right now, it's a tad confusing.

You start with the condition that the planet has no intelligent life and proceed to say we will populate it with life from our own planet. Do you not understand that we are a form of life? Also just to be pedantic, the entire thing would be the result of "human influence".
That would also be an insanely expensive undertaking. What useful conclusions would you expect to derive from such an experiment that would justify the cost?

We could seed the planet with clones of David Attenborough as well, then harvest an endless supply of trippy nature documentaries.

I'm not gay, but Attenborough is like the king of men IMO.

Is declaring someone king of men really indicative of gayness?

No, I'm just being silly. Refer to my earlier post. 2C-E.

Attenborough is the king. If you were a primitive tribe and you had a guy like that as your shaman, you'd be doing extremely well.
