Hi guys and i appreciate your time. I have only been successful on one hunt last year and i have done alot of reading in terms of habitat, bruising, spore print etc but not much experience in terms of field work. It seems that my brain will just match up what im looking for eg white slender stem bruising blue,  caramel color top etc. To me the first pic looks like the stem has bruised blue. Could someone please point out the difference in what i suspect to be subs to the real thing if they are not active. For eg i should be looking for something with a more slender stem , color of top should be lighter

Cortinarius has a brownish stem, and it should break apart fairly easily.
It also has brown caps vs caramel brown/yellow for subs
