That's the part that's weird about it. Here is this totally foreign concious experience, and yet we can kindof maybe understand some of what it's going through. That's a bizarre feeling having that tiny window into a dog's mind.

I really wish the media was more responsible than this but what the fuck can I expect.

I took my now passed dog to the emergency vet one night while we were mining and camping on site. She was seizing, drooling, panicking etc. I was concerned that she had gotten into coyote bait or was having a neurologic episode that needed monitoring. The er vet said everything was unlikely except that she probably ate psilocybin mushrooms. It was mid may in northern California near Alturas. There are no psilocybin species that live out there, but this vet tried to tell me they did. I told him I was nearly an expert in the field and he just threw his hands in the air. There are a lot of environmental and chemical factors that can cause a dog to act like it's hallucinating, but psilocybin is very rarely the cause. The same thing happened to my dog a week later and she was hit by a car after getting spooked and running off. If that fucking vet had a clue she'd still be with me and getting treatment for whatever neurological problem it was.
