Do you like House/Trance 2

Since we got another thread going on a similar topic, and house is older (Oakenfold basically started it).
How's about this:
DO NOT LISTEN TO THIS UNLESS AT FULL VOLUME
-------------------- Let it be seen that you are nothing. And in knowing that you are nothing... there is nothing to lose, there is nothing to gain. What can happen to you? Something can happen to the body, but it will either heal or it won't. What's the big deal? Let life knock you to bits. Let life take you apart. Let life destroy you. It will only destroy what you are not. --Jac O'keeffe

Not trying to be a party pooper, but you're pretty off on your history there. Paul Oakenfold really had nothing to do with the origins of either house or trance.

I'll look for resources later (or maybe not), but house is American music. If you want to look at someone who had more to do with getting it kickstarted than anyone else, the name is Frankie Knuckles from Chicago.
I know trance is German, initially, but don't know much about its origins.
For techno, you'd be talking about dudes from Detroit like Juan Atkins and Kevin Saunderson.

But to answer the question in the OP, I do like some house and trance music. These days I mostly listen to trance for the nostalgia factor; when I was really into raves back in the 1990s, it was huge in my area & now when I hear a certain style of trance it gives me good feelings of a happy time gone by. House can be pretty cool too, certain styles anyway.

I think I've posted each of these three songs in the past in one thread or another though. Really need to sit down for a weekend and go into music discovery mode.

AH BD, hook me up with that euphoria please man. I would love to share it with you. I know it well. You got any mixes? Can set up dropbox or something to share...

Here's a fairly in depth look at the origin of house music. Tbh, when I hear music from this era, I respect it for what it is and what it did, but it commonly sounds very dated and simple to me. I mean, that's the roots, so of course it sounds old and unevolved, but that doesn't take away from its importance.

Yeah, see I recognise what started it and respect it, but that's often very separate from what give me the euphoric chills...
The latter is what I'm asking you about...

I like this mix of euphoric trance, all songs from 1999. It reminds me of rolling my dick off with my friends at a nice outlaw party or something. This mix is cool because of both the track selection & mix style; the problem I have with so many trance mixes is that they play the songs for like 7 minutes and only get like 10 songs into a mix. This dj mixes pretty quick so there's a good amount of cool songs, and if you don't like one of them, it ends soon.

I believe Freddie Knuckles invented House in the post-Disco days.
I love me some House, especially Funky House. Anything from FLC Or Funky Love Crew is awesome.
From Soundcloud: Giom, Giesha Twins, Big Daddy Scamp are all awesome.
Some of the mainstream house like Zedd, Calvin Harris, The Chainsmokers or David Guetta are pretty decent.
Im not into old school house, but new house is dope.
Also, Psy trance is where trance is at. G.M.S., Earthling, Space Buddah, 1200 micrograms, and Space Tribe are amazing.

Don't like either.
If I was out camping in the woods on drugs and someone put on some trance then I could probably get into it. If they put house music on I would get out of there right away. Might even leave my camping gear behind.

They're gr8. I wish I was clubbing/raving during that time period, i like the music much better than what I heard when I was raving. It cancsound really dated like burke said, but there are gems that sound timeless like james holden, james holden was such a genius when it came to electronic music, his music particularly in the early years of the 2000s was in a league of its own.
Killahurtz is also dope. This track is the epitome of a roll your nuts off track.
Loki - nyc underground (james holden remix)
Infusion - troika
This stuff is on the edge between trance and house, certainly not either by today's house and trance.

Nah, I'm exagerating. After a couple songs I would just say "so, what other kinds of music do you like besides house." Then I might leave if they kept playing it.
Once in a great while I will listen to some metal while tripping. Everyone likes different stuff. I would turn it off for sure if someone wasn't into it though

When I was talking about house music that sounds dated, I wasn't really meaning stuff from 15 or even 20 years ago, but more like the tracks from the mid 1980s and earlier. A lot of dance music from that time period is great, particularly the "euro beat" and "disco italia" sounds, but a lot of the house music is pretty cheesy or underdeveloped, at least by current standards.

Yes, regarding genres of dance music, I pretty much like it all, with the exception of some of the gnarly variations of hardstyle.
When I was 16 or 17 I heard the chemical brothers and basement jaxx, thought they were amazing, now they're not house, but through hearing them I was lead to daft punk, and daft punk is house as fuck. But daft punk is really what got me into house, then when I was living in the bay area they had a house show that was like 6 hours long on the weekends, shit was amazing, on a radio station called 94.9, that radio show really showed me a wide variety of house.

I really dig deep house and old school chicago house. Mark Farina comes through this area a couple times a year and I catch him when he does. He always throws down some classics. Miguel Migs is another favorite house DJ of mine. First time I saw him, he was touring with Lisa Shaw. Goddamn that woman knows how to sing. That was my first proper house set (fuck all that overdone electro house), and it had me hooked.
Here's a solid six hours of deep house:

Techno tends to be on the darker side for sure. Have you ever listened to Tin Man? He's out of LA. Definitely more on the up beat side for techno. His older albums have super weird spoken word over them. Check out the album Neo Neo Acid. As far as tech house goes, have you ever listened to Lusine?

My favorite kind of House is Underground/tech house. Blend of tech house and trippy underground house.
Jason Durelo, a pop artist, just released a track that has a Very Underground House-eque beat during the chorus. Its very cool, check it out. Listen to the beat closely:
