I think it just boils down to being able to pull in your audience or listener...
it's difficult but you can capture ones attention if you can recognize how we think as people.
We have to utilize what we know and apply it in action. What am I saying?
If you want someone to do something for you, you can use a 'leading question' to sway their answer towards what you want to hear, is this manipulation? Maybe...
If you use it to a beneficial cause like for example, inviting an introvert to a party and knowing it would be good for them despite their anti-social behaviors, it is a win win for everybody. There is a flip side...
You can use 'leading questions' to make people second think themselves in a negative manor. Kinda like testing their will or beliefs. Example- you are against someone else over a 1v1 basketball matchup. If you ask them how they are able to sink so many baskets, they'll begin to doubt their ability and you just got in their head.
There are a few UFC fighters that talk shit inside the ring for this exact reason.
This is just the tip of the iceberg...
What if we look into reverse manipulation and furthermore body language?
Does looking one in the eye and asserting dominance reward you with someones undivided attention? or did you just rub somebody the wrong way
It's all interesting material and I'm curious as to what some of the posters here have to say
-------------------- Bring the right vibes. Express yourself. Be open. Be crazy. But spread your beautiful love light. Things are gonna get wonky.

because we choose to care more of our dependency of other people than recognizing that we aren't even supposed to be alive. Work, buy, consume, die. Lying to ourselves that we can't live off of the land, or that we will be judged by the walking dead if we choose to. We typically care more of our public image and reputation than we do of our own desires, because we know that people have.something to offer us. We can lie snd say we appreciate certain individuals for their company, but it isnt true, they offer food for the ego such as pride, always thanking us, and showing their dependency, and we like feeling like somebodys God, like they need us. So we keep people around, and we are the exact same as they are. they buy shiny things to impress people, we buy shiny things, to impress them, someone buys shiny things to impress us, and its a big goddamn human centipede. If we woke up tomorroe alone in the world, as if everyone was dead, we would not care of what we did or didnt own, or whether or not we had enough money, or time, or food, or support, because we would realize how fulfilling it is just to survive on our own.

I must be super evolved then, ya know with being anxious and restless all the time.
Regarding anxiety, consider a tribe of cave men. And women.
It's highly adaptive to have some members of the group pacing the grounds scanning for enemies.
It's why we are so prone to focus on the negative. We need members of the tribe to be focused on impending doom and post traumatic stress of attacks of the past.

funny idea
isn't anxiety a result of lots of negative self talk & imagery, and therefore the product of a busy mind?
When I'm quiet I can hear a lot more sounds. And if we don't fantasize we probably see better too.
And animal wouldn't seem to worry, although I admit squirrels are very skittish.

Negative thinking and fear about what might happen in the future would be a good trait to have in the jungle, right?
Worrying about the worst case scenario would seem to be good for survival.
Some say non-human animals don't worry, because worrying is based on time (anxiety about the future), and animals don't have a concept of time and live in the present.
Back to humans for a second. It seems our worry is often focused on our fear of change... and also our "What ifs"
