I really thought they would turn red and fall off when they are ready. Some are changing color now, but the process may be delayed since moving indoors with less light. I may end up picking them from the bush once they are red and not wait for them to drop.

Same here, I try to show my kid things about my plants too. He respects my interest but I haven’t been able to spark interest in him. We even have a horticulture project for school growing basil and bell peppers in my old school phototron with a home made hydroponic system. Hell, I think it’s cool. Once he is just a little older and can experience some entheogens maybe that will develop some interest.

I didn't really get into gardening until my grandmother died. It was a passion/hobby of hers, and I ended up falling down this rabbit hole to help take care of some of her most prized specimens.

Most kids don't have the patience for the delayed gratification that comes with gardening or growing plants from seed especially when we're just talking about ornamentals!

Hi All! I gave a try to coco coir, the growth is much better than in soil, but  canna coco its iron deficient as it only has 0.02% Fe DTPA and the plant doest  have that perfect green. What kind of nutrients do you use? How often you feed and do you also flush the coco once in a while?( after you check run off EC) I've seen some posts back that some of you had stunted growth or lost leaves. The growth we want should be constant and better than in soil(so we should have a schedule for a perfect grow, that anyone can make use of it). Did any of you tried DWC? Or drip? The only way for us its hydros fast growth, because we do not have the time or space. The plant in coir is the one from the seed harvest i posted while back. I found an article about blueberries "The berries that I grow, I frequently put into inexpensive poly bags, Grow Bags, with a mix of Perlite and vermiculite, 70% Perlite 30% Vermiculite. Perlite does not retain much water, it draws it up via transpirational pull, Vermiculite retains too much water - with Blueberries and other berry crops ,you want to avoid too much moisture near the root base for extended periods due to the high susceptibility to root rot. A blend of these 2 mediums seems to do the trick

Although the perlite vermiculite blend is best - other mediums such as expanded clay will also suffice."

Theres a guy that gives consultancy online about nutrients, he is the one who made that app to reverse engineer branded nutrients(or to make your own formula). I am sure he can make a specific hydro or coco nutrient for both E.C or E.N. Wouldnt that be a dream to have something created exactly for this plant? It will not be cheap, but then we can make our own nutes. If we study a while we can make it(or not haha). But a proffesional its the best way to go.
Also i have to let you know that the plants grown in soil Ph7 on the bag watered with ph 8.5 for 8 years still grew flowered and fruited. They were at the window, the growth was slow but you ve seen the pics i posted they look good. Also if you give them more light you ll see deficiencies and maybe then is the time that the high ph will make the difference. I watered with ph5 and they seem to grow faster.E.N is very tolerant to high PH.
Let me know how you do it and how predictable is your growth rate.Soil, coco, hydro guys state your hard learned techniques. Medium, Nutes line, EC, PH, supplements, lighting device ( wattage, spectrum, time) and other detailes i missed but you find important ex:temp, humidity .etc

Soil, from harvested seeds last year

Coco one, harvested seed few months ago, started in soil but the growth was bad and i transfered to coco then grew much better, but i havent supplement iron yet, need to, soon. The white cotyledons are because of light burn.

Any advice is welcome!

Are you sure Hayito is a variety of coca? I've never heard of it.

sure bro . hayito its no a variety .
i can say tingo maria , hayito or mambe
but the are only popular names in indogenous tribes .
so i think that hayito is just e.coca  as pure variety
today in colombia the coca plants are hibridyzes .

Beautiful E. novogranatense you have there, JayWise! I was wondering if you have any previous experience using those sachets of what I suppose are predatory mites? I read they likely won't exterminate the entire spider mite population, so regular application might be necessary.

What type of light are you using, and do you run a humidifier in your growing space? I'm asking because your Mitragyna looks much healthier than mine!
