Its always hot where i love. Its mild right now. Low 80s in the day and cool at night.
I left them out almost immediately. They germinated under the shade of my elm in a see throigh rubbermaid container. As soon as i saw the first set of leaves the lid wqs taken off.

JayWise said: So my little baby’s first true leaves are really opening out and getting bigger, and a second pair are becoming visible too. Thats the good news. The bad news is that the leaf margins are a little crinkly and if i look closely there are a couple of (very) tiny brown spots on the leaves. Otherwise they are a nice green. I want to nip any problems in the bud so to speak as it looks like this will be my own plant from five expensive seeds. Any ideas for most likely problem?
Pictures help to diagnose problens nan

The top one is good. The bottom one suffered cold damage. Just barely getting back to form.

I recently put a fan on mine, blowing them around pretty good. I want the stems to sturdy up, so I don't have to stake them up. One of the guys I got seed from said that Novo's should have a fan on them. Otherwise you have flimsy stems. I hope it strengthens them.

Do you all know whats up with this guy. Im thinking the angle od the sun burnt some of the leaves.

It was cold like 3 weeks ago. I wasnt here. It went down to 45f. And this thursday goes down to 30s but i will bring them in. Not my kratom, thoigh.
So,what kind of diagnosis is this? Sun burne leaves or never quite geting over the cold weather? The other one is still better looking.

You should be careful. You have nice plants, and you have done well, but cold can take those beauties away from you in the blink of an eye. I've seen it happen with some of mine that were fairly well established. You're playing with fire IMO. I think the cold is your issue with that plant, btw.
I've also read that drastic temperature shifts (such as bringing them from 40* weather, inside to 70*) can have a very negative impact on these plants.

I don't agree with the fan method. It is a perenial shrub not a herb. blowing air at a plant as sensitive to climate and illness as this could potentially make it sick. We have completely different spores, parasites, bacteria and viruses that it knows from its original habitat. It only passes on this information via seed. The best way to fatten the stem is to prune it regularly and harvest.
use the videos provided by youtube for bonzai pruning as an aid.
