Ever broken up a jar and noticed blackish and even blueish green brusing?

I had a jar that seemed ready to g2g. I broke it up last night and wound up getting tied up before I could g2g it. Today I've noticed some of the rye berries are like black. And some greenish but not like trick green. Almost looks like could be bruising. I'll try to get a pic. But have any of you seen that before? On health jars..

I don't like beating the shit out of my spawn. Just sterilize a fork and fluff some grain into receiving jar/mono/whatever.
Oats with hull on make it even easier though. More myc inside the kernels than jamming up all the space in-between the grains

Wow. Never heard of that. It's pretty much same as banging up and breaking a jar. Your method can increase chance of contams. If it works for you more power to you but I find banging on a tire to but a lot easier. Anyway you didn't answer question pertaining to post. I'm wondering about bruised kernels sometimes looking a certain color. But. Thanks,

After a shake I can tell which grains were colonized and which were not, the colonized ones get darker in color, popcorn turn a brown/orange. Black could mean dark brown and green could mean blue I mean its all in how we see things, got pics?

Never bruised my spawn ever, so I can't answer the colour question. Likely says something

I've had spawn bruise before, some varieties more than others. APE spawn often bruises for me.
