MS --> LC --> Agar or MS --> Agar?

Just planning to get a new grow started, but looking to work with agar before noc'in jars. What's the best way to go about things, MS syringe to agar to lc, im not sure if lc grows identical mycelium or not. Im assuming the agar would clean up the ms and then lc to innoc. jars with. Some input would be great.

This is kind of a preferential question, but the simplest would be Spores to agar. You'd only really want to put LC to agar to see if it was clean.
I like to use Muda's LI blender with a full colonized plate to make LI for my grains after instead of just taking a wedge to the grain.

Thank you my freind for asking. Everyone on here believes that spores to agar is best way and lc is horrible But i disagree fresh spores to lc is great starter. In theory you inject 1/4th a ml of spores into agar directly you have to wait and tranfer two to three times to get a clean culture and only have two or three clean plates to play around with to lets say make Li for jars. Sounds logically sound but flip the other way spores growth quick in lc very fast. So now inject 1/4th ml of spores in an lc and see growth in a short ten day big ball of myc. Not clean but thats ok because now you inject 30 plates with half a ml of that lc. Then transferable by clean cuts twice and half 90 clean plates to play with. 90 vs 3. Your choice

If you start with 2 germination plates, take 5 transfers from each of those (that's 10 plates) then 5 from each of those (that's 50) you can have 50+ CLEAN plates ready to make an LC, or noc up some jars and YOU WILL BE SURE IT IS CLEAN... Yes you CAN go spores to LC... But why?

That was a terrible argument. Why would you ever want 90 plates of the same culture? If you want to expand, do a g2g. Or if you want more myc do spores to agar and then agar to lc and you have a clean lc that can be used to inoc as many jars as you want. Combined with g2g you're unstoppable.

yeah, that argument really makes very little sense. why would you go spores to LC to agar jsut to clean up, instead of going spores to agar, clean up, to clean LC.

Simple more plates at starting point to make transfers. Ive been very lucky with ventor spores syringes turning out perfectly clean in a lc when tested on agar. If you start out with only half bad lc your plates grow rates and cuts move faster. I can only get two or three cuts per plate not five.
