Blended vermiculite for roll, think I went too far.

My vermiculite is fairly coarse so I decided to toss it in a blender before rolling a cake in it. Been doing a bunch of searches over the last couple days and couldn't find any answers with pics for me to compare my verm to.
It's been 5 days and there has been no growth of the mycelium. Would I be correct in believing that vermiculite this fine would be completely cutting it off from oxygen? Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Edit: Forgot to come back to this thread. It never pinned. Don't blend your vermiculite, people. Having had a number of successful projects since this, it seems ridiculously obvious to me now.

Just have some patience.. looks fine.. keep it slightly moist but not damp or wet. If nothing is happening a week from now then report back.

It could be blocking airflow if it is too wet. Only mist it when it is dry and it should work.

Thank you both for your replies. I will certainly report back in a week.

Report back even if your pinning in a week. Never hurts to see some successful cakes around here

Agreed. I absolutely will report back regardless of success or failure. I think the worst case scenario is nothing happens, then I just have to try to find a way to carefully remove some or all of the vermiculite and re-dunk and roll.

The only time you'd consider a new dunk and roll would be if you birth early and your cakes sit in the sgfc for weeks.
I had to birth mine on the tail end of colonization. We don't have A/C and it was either birth or die.
These cakes completely absorbed all the verm while finishing up colonization.

This whole endeavor now changed 4 weeks colonization and a week of consolidation into 2+ months from spore until I see fruits.
So now I'm back at step 2.

Rolling them again serves to create a 1-2mm microclimate around the cake to initiate pinning. When you lose that, be ready to reroll or mist the piss out of them. I'd never recommend doing it except extenuating circumstances.
Gently misting them once or twice in the first 36h (or letting the water droplets fall gently on them) helps ensure as much verm as possible sticks. They won't suffocate in a sgfc. Never mist hard enough to knock the verm (casing layer) off your cakes.
