Need to construct monotub... also need medium ideas STAT!

I have mycelia coming in and I need to put them somewhere. I have access to horseshit. I was told to use the dry stuff and all these ways to pasteurize it seem really complicated. I was told it had to be HORSE shit specifically, the process had to bring it to around 170 degrees, mixed with hay, layer of this, layer of that... I get easily overwhelmed and I'm glad that I've made it this far at least!
Does anyone have a step-by-step for medium creation for the monotub design? I really was wanting to do a sealed tub design without a lot of finer design elements because I really don't have the money. I was going to use totes or cardboard boxes and line them with plastic garbage bags and maybe seal with plastic wrap. I have no idea how to pasteurize. Other medium ideas besides horseshit are also welcome. I was going to bake the horseshit with a tinfoil cover at 170 for about thirty minutes because someone was telling about raising the temp of my water heater... too much
any help/insight would be much appreciated!!! ThankSSSS!!

Dont use hay. If you're going to use something like that you want straw.
Google "hay vs straw" if youre not sure about the difference.

I recommend using Damion5050's Coir Tek. Super easy and basic!

You can even use an unmodified tub, they work perfectly, especially for lazy people like me. It's by bohdista
And for pasteurising, just buy an ice cooler box, those thick plastic boxes not the styrofoam.
Stuff the bulk substrate in a pillow or something.
Heat water to 170F, and dump it in the cool box
Shut the lid tight, and let the count down begin.
It will maintain pasteurisation temps for a couple of hours so no worries.
Edit: Put a brick or something on the pillow so that it stays submerged.

No.. I didn't look around enough, but now I feel a little better about this . lot of info from a lot of places. Just want to do it well.
I also thought I had all my jars come out contaminated and it turned out to be the start of something special. Mycelia looked like white cobweb mold to me but then it started spiderwebbing out.
I'm going to take pics to document this all. The coco looks like a great method and the directions should work well. On building my tub(s), how is air exchange? I assume the polyfil in the holes is to keep moisture in and airflow happening? and I was going to go ahead and use liners for easy cleanup... god this site has good stuff... so anxious and excited. That's a clear/solid tub, four good sized holes, polyfill (maybe), substrate...
Do they really need twelve hours of light/day?

Yes.
And yes its recommended because mycelium benefits from it, but you can still fruit without light, its not mandatory just beneficial. And just keep it in indirect sunlight, no need for lights and shit, and its doesn't have to be 12/12 its not weed
Direct sunlight for abit wouldn't hurt it also.

So horseshit isn't essential. I did talk to another grower that said it was magic though. I think he mentioned the coco for casing then horseshit because the coco has no nutrient value. The cakes have there own I know and mixed in... I see how they could grow without the fertilizer. He was also talking about two cakes per tub perhaps instead of a full five?

If coco coir has no nutrient value then what is this?

Manure is absolutely non-essential. The grains are the source of nutrients.
This other grower sounds stuck in the past.

Is 5 quarts mycelia required or suggested? My first jars are tiny... maybe half quart. I didn't realize they needed to be so big until I read more on this site. I have seven, but they aren't that big, so I was just going to lessen the other ingredients accordingly. My question was whether it matters if I have more or less mycelium to the 2 quarts verm and one brick of choir.
and a question on colonization time: It's taken mine a month to fully colonize the jars which is not what I was expecting. They started moving really fast and the last two weeks its like they haven't really made a lot of progress. I have been keeping them in a cab above the refrigerator, sealed in a plastic case. Inside, they are in bags, not all separate but labeled according to the days I inoculated them. I thought this would cut down on contamination. In the future, I am/was going to keep them in ziplocs because this would make them easier to look at without risking contamination.
Is there a faster way that isn't entirely too expensive to get them to colonize faster? I also checked them twice a week, maybe even three because I got a little too anxious about getting them into the monotub
