Trouble if call an ambulence while freakng out during trip?

I've never actually called for help, but I was close one time. Started having a bad trip on mushrooms. Hadn't done them in a few years and took 4 grams. My friend had to calm me down for awhile and I told him he may have to call an ambulence or take me to the hospital. I worked through it, but I'm curious what would happen if we did call for help?
I'm sure they would just tell me to wait it out, maybe get a benzo to calm me down, knowing it's just in my head. But would they notify police, question me and possibly charge me?

There's really no reason to call an ambulance if you're having a bad trip. That sounds obvious, but a lot of people do.
Just always know that this will end soon. It helps to have a time in mind. (dose at 5 and then you know that by like 9 or 10 it'll start going away quickly).
If you're actually concerned going forward, either A, don't trip, or B, have some Xanax or Valium on hand ahead of time.
There may be a cop that shows up before or with the ambulance... Just depends... And if they show and you have drugs or whatever in plain site, I'd venture a guess you could be charged if they wanted to be a dick about it.

If cops come too, they will come in your house and ticket you for any drugs/paraphernalia.
Believe that.
That's why people who are OD'ing get left to die, because even if people call for help, they will still get in trouble for possession or whatever.
I've heard of stories of people who are overdosing getting kicked out of cars and left behind dumpsters coming back from the city because they would get arrested if they called it in due to the fact they were involved.
There needs to be amnesty for those who call for help. I believe there is in certain states.

Yeah, as long as you're not driving or anything like that and don't have anything else, you're good. But it probably isn't worth the bill, and it would go on your medical record.

If you were wandering around out in public making a scene, you may get like public intoxication or disturbing the peace, some shit like that (if a bystander called it in)...
I don't know, though

Calling an ambulance is a horrible idea. They're just going to make you feel worse and then administer some kind of benzo or tranquilizer when they figure out that you're just high on drugs. Then, long after you've come down, the bill will also suck.
Just keep a decent amount of benzos around for when you need to come down. Works rather well.

They would probably just give you some narcan and flush your body with saline. They may not give you any benzos unless you are seizing or are a current opioid addict. It may be policy for hospitals to inform the authorities if there is a drug related case, especially if you arrive at the hospital in an ambulance. I don't see the cops putting forth much effort towards harassing someone for eating too many mushrooms if you didn't hurt anyone or damage any property though. I tripped real hard recently, felt very uncomfortable and solved the situation with a shower. Worked miracles.

My friend drives an ambulance sometimes and they picked up a guy who had called while he was tripping on shrooms. They had to strap him down on the stretcher and I can't imagine how bad that would feel while you're tripping. They didn't do it to be mean it was just the protocol so he didn't flop off and smash his head.

I believe now (at least in most places) that it is in fact safe to call for help if someone is ODing. They've passed laws on that because so many people were needlessly dying because their friends were afraid.

Some actual facts here at least
http://www.drugpolicy.org/911-good-samaritan-fatal-overdose-prevention-law
Quote:
Twenty states and the District of Columbia have enacted policies to provide limited immunity from arrest or prosecution for minor drug law violations for people who summon help at the scene of an overdose. New Mexico was the first state to pass such a policy and has been joined in recent years by Alaska, California, Colorado, Connecticut, Delaware, Florida, Georgia, Illinois, Louisiana,Maryland, Massachusetts, Minnesota, New Jersey, New York, North Carolina, Rhode Island, Vermont, Washington and Wisconsin.

I really doubt EMTs would administer Narcan for someone having a bad trip. They give that to people who have fallen out, unconscious and unresponsive, from opiates. Also, why would they be likely to give benzos to a "current opiate addict"? None of this makes sense.

Don't mean to spam this thread, but this is also mentioned and is relevant...
Good Samaritan laws do not protect people from arrest for other offenses, such as selling or trafficking drugs, or driving while drugged. These policies protect only the caller and overdose victim from arrest and/or prosecution for simple drug possession, possession of paraphernalia, and/or being under the influence.

There definitely is in Indiana. It's called the Lifeline law. A few years back some kids and his friends were drinking and the kid got alcohol poisoning. His friends were all underage and they didn't want to get arrested, so they didn't call for help. Kid dies. Parents are heartbroken and started some kind of movement to keep those responsible out of trouble if they do want to call an ambulance. It applies to drugs as well.

Yeah I wouldn't ever call the ambulence just from a bad trip. Ever since that night awhile ago, I now carry valium around just in case. Impossible to have a bad trip on valium haha. I would be fucked if the cops came and searched my house. I was growing those shrooms at the time haha.
