Women working in hardware stores

Since I became a working man half a decade ago, I've repeatedly found that women who work in hardware stores are almost always useless.
They never know what I'm talking about when I ask if they have something and always end up sending me off to one of the males in the store who will usually instantaneously know what I'm talking about.
Why the fack are these women put in positions where they are useless?

Maybe you generalize the moment you walk in and women can feel your hatred and bad vibes and have no interest in helping you so they send you to someone you feel more comfortable with (and it also gets you the hell away from them)

Your tone carries your resentment of females too I'm sure.
I can build more than most of the children around me we call men so maybe just keep in mind that not all females are dumb in the areas you may think.

Is letting a manager deal with a difficult customer unprofessional? They may just pick up on his vibe and send him where he is more comfortable.
Based on your post count and rating I won't be entertaining your obvious baiting further than this.

Playing dumb would definitely be unprofessional. Especially if its only because the customer makes you feel uncomfortable.

I was about to bring up that point. I've been in plenty of hardware stores where the guy had no idea wtf I was talking about.... This works both ways.

so when you walk into a hardware store and speak to one of these women you say are useless, are you asking for advice on how to build a nuclear enrichment facility? I mean when I hit the home depot my questions are usually limited to "where is the plumbing section?", "do you know if you have ardex or scofield engineered cements?"
I typically am not trying to build a time machine from off the shelf parts at home depot because when I start asking questions more in depth than that I have everyone scratching their heads because it seems that the men in these hardware stores dont know how to run 3 phase electric, program a PLC or even where to find the proximity switches so I typically leave those sorts of questions for the electronics engineers

This thread is sexist and generalizes... Just because there is a man in a hardware store it doesn't mean they know more than a woman working there. Also male or female people are going to have areas of expertise. Maybe you asked about something outside of her area, it doesn't mean she couldn't help you with something she's more familiar with if that was the question you asked, same with men. Maybe I asked about something he was unfamiliar with, is that a reason to assume he is dumb?

It's been my experience, that's there's always just that one person in the hardware store that knows anything about anything. Everyone else is basically useless.
It's typically an older man with a grey beard and he usually runs the key machine most of the time.

Also you don't build a time machine with parts from Home Depot... You gotta go to sharper image for that shit.

My mom knows more about hardware then most men. She owned a hardware store for 10 years. She also knows construction better than most people.
You are generalizing a little too much. Then again, most men don't know about flowers, manicures etc. Some professions are more gender biased than others.

Generalizing can have some truth to it. Your mom is a 1 in 100 example of a women that has that knowledge. The angry chick in this thread that can build stuff is also 1 in 100 example.
And to people talking about building machines and shit- I never said i was building a machine. It's almost always me asking them where th part would be in the store.
The women almost always can't help me with that unless they are specialized to the specific isle such as paint.

I'm not angry (there you go assuming untrue things again) I'm just pointing out that this is a sexist thread. It seems really full of hate for women.
I went to an auto parts store and bought a battery, as I was walking out they said WAIT we will install that for you! So I went across the street where there was free wifi to finish an app test I had due. When I returned it wasn't done and it was very obvious the guy didn't know what he was doing. I didn't give him shit for it, I helped him. I find it unbelievable that ANYONE wouldn't know how to do that especially working at an auto parts store. Should I assume all men that work at parts stores are idiots that don't know how to install car batteries?
I try to respect my fellow humans and keep the judgements and labels out of it... I'm such an angry person....

The only people I ever go up to in a hardware store are old, hardened, blue collar ass mother fuckers. They ALL know their shit. They actually like working in a place like that. If I go to a woman, or a younger male, I can almost guarantee the answer will be "You should go ask customer service because I'm not really sure."
While I'm about a half mile away from customer service at the other end of the store, thanks.

OP you can say the same thing for endless shit. Yes men and women have different interests, that shouldn't exclude them from a job anymore than someone who hates coffee shouldn't lack consideration for a job at 'Hortons.
