Literally broken?
How long has it been sore? I've had my jaw clamp up for a few minutes in the morning before (say 10min)

Sometimes if you are really in a deep unmoving sleep you can really stress some smaller muscles. Hope it feels better, mouth and head pain in general is pretty rough.

Pain in the jaw can be a symptom of a heart attack. You should talk to your doctor.
...and yes, some heart attacks can go unnoticed which is very dangerous because they cause damage which could lead to a bigger heart attack in the near future

It'll probably subside....How old are you OP? Could be some sort of arthritis flare. A lot of times we grind our teeth while sleeping...you may have had some grinding extraordinaire last night.
