I had squatters try and stay at a property I was selling. I got the bums out by going through the courts and they still didn't leave so the cops had to manually throw them out. By that point I had sold the property and the new owners wouldn't give them their stuff. The dude freaked out and the wife turned their kids over to child services that day. My hands were clean and they had 6 months warning. I guess they thought the judge was joking and they could ride it out longer. They were clearly misinformed.
So don't do it you bum!

me and a few pals used to smoke a lot at an abandoned house it was a good time
i would never have the balls to squat, if i was financially unstable i would probably live in a storage unit or a buy a pop up tent and get a gym membership at one of those 24 hour gyms so i could wash and lift and charge my phone and shit

Thought this was about to be squatting to shit. Its a much more natural way to shit, and totally works if you are constipated. I find it difficult to squat on certain toliets though.

Haha that reminds me when an older member, ellemyshade, made a topic trying to sell everyone on squatting over the toilet and all the benefits that go with it.
Many people were like "wut?"
But many people also agreed and shared their experiences. Lol

I've heard about courts not being able to kick squatters out but I don't understand how that even works. If It is your property you can make anyone leave or is because the bank owns it from people renting or leasing?
Either way if it happened to me I'd hire some people to go ruff em up. Easy as that. Or do it myself. Curb stomp..

Last I heard she was moving with her family back to the states. She was trying to decide where they should go. Not to sure where she ended up. If my memory serves me correct she was choosing between Washington, Oregon or Idaho. Don't quote me on that tho. She posted not to long ago in the ladies forum (chicksgrowtoo thread about pregnancy weight)

Most states have laws that actually protect squatters. You have to give them a 30 day notice with a lawyer involved to start to count down clock which is at least 90 days. If the squatters don't leave after the 30 day period, then you have to sue them for removal. If you own the property and there are no legal documents allowing them to stay, then it's pretty cut and dry. It just takes that long to go through the courts and get a hearing, then a judgment against them. If they are not out by the judge's given date, then the cops can be called in for immediate removal and drama. Any sort of threat or out of line removal tactic can result in you the property owner breaking tenant/squatter laws and serving jail time. It's a lawyer's world.

So the people squatting in your house didn't get into any legal trouble at all for doing so?
That's pretty nuts.

Squatters have no respect for other people's property. Therefore if you face an angry home owner or legal charges I have no sympathy for you. When I was younger I had family members who had rental property on the other side of town. Someone broke in and ripped the cabinet doors off the cabinets, ripped off the blinds, broke the back door, and made the kitchen/living room area a mess. Stay at home, get a job, work just like the rest of us, move out when you have money saved up. Good luck.

Connoisseur, I have squatted throughout the foreclosed homes of our hometown, longisland.
It was quite some time ago I was 19 or 20 going through a rough time with no place to live. I had a job and a car at the time which made things alot easier. Lasted for about two months or so until I could dig myself out of the whole. Rough times man. Everyone is out for themselves in newyork. Dog eat dog. I stayed in middleisland, coram, rockypoint, ridge, lake panamoka, by the smith haven mall. I think longisland has the highest foreclosed home rate in america.
Anyways, glad that period of my life is over. Scary shit. I saw an article that someone got stabbed to death last week in the home Depot parking lot in coram...drug addict stomping grounds right there.
