Hello everybody its my first monotub and I was wondering if it is ready to put into fruiting conditions.
It is coir and vermiculite spawned with about a 1:2 ratio of spawn to substrate, and has been colonizing for 6 days. I did not add a casing layer.
Thanks a bunch =)

This spot looks iffy as well. If it is the green bastard you can make a salt paste and put on it to let the first flush finish. It really does nothing to stop it, but I believe it helps prevent the spores from flying around as much.

i dont know man, when i see spots like that my tubs go out lol. reason being, mold spores. ive been told they can spread into the air quite easily. and that can mean youll be fighting contams on other future tubs if you end up with mold infested air etc..
or maybe im really stoned.
i hope it all works out lol; id take the good mushrooms that are there, and call that tub done though.

I haven't seen green in a while since building a better SAB (knock on wood) but for me it just depends. If I have a killer flush coming in that just needs 10-12 hours or so to finish I'll salt paste it and pitch it after harvest. If it was just starting to pin and trich showed up I would def just pitch it. I agree, you don't want that shit in your home/work area.

It happens. Harvest outside and toss asap like others recommended.

If mold spores were really as dangerous to future grows as people widely believe them to be, then throwing moldy left overs away, or dirty dishes would be devastating to most of our set ups...obviously you don't want to perpetuate a mold colony, but I wouldn't be too worried about future grows at all.

I'm not comfortable leaving moldy shit inside either but I do agree that clean spawn is all that matters. It's kinda hard not to go apeshit when you see a patch of mold spores though. I had to trash a laundry basket full of straw last week and that shit was green throughout. It felt disgusting. The straw was easily 95F, yuck.
