What is the longest you've went soaking grains, with success?

Well I did it again. Not sure if it matters much but curious. I got stranded last night due to transportation issues, and didn't get back home until this morning. I had otherwise planned on doing a batch of jars I had soaking, last night. Instead, i got home a few hours ago. Making the soak about 30 hours. Boiling now. Just curious. Has anyone went over 24 hours? Is it likely they will do just fine? Anyone else ever soak longer than 24 hrs?

I have, and created a huge Yeast cake floating on top. Did a very rigorous rinse, and a quick blanch. Turned out ok.
Other issue can be sprouting, which is almost always bad

Right on. Yea. I was curious because they are definitely in beginning stages of sprouting. I figure I'll just do a 120 minute pc cycle.

ive soaked up to 40-48 hours with success. and i still at least simmered before dumping into a strainer. i get weird time constraints due to work so sometimes its hard to keep up perfectly but its worked for me so far. just make sure you PC quick and get them inoc'd ASAP after that.
like others mentioned though, if sprouting has occurred, id call it done.

If time is an issue you can just skip the soak and do a straight boil instead. Works great for larger grains like oats and rye but WBS would give you some trouble I reckon. With WBS I think you can get away with skipping the soak and doing a simmer instead of a boil.
It takes me ~40minutes to go from completely dry grains to loaded, foil wrapped jars with that method using oats.

Is simmer always a nessisary step? If you let them soak long enough (say 48 hours) could they not just be good to go after a thorough rinse and PC?

They look ok...
I have went 2 days once but that's probably pushing it.
After so long the grains will start sprouting and/or fermenting.
Once they start to ferment I would assume they are no longer good.
